aww congrats Donna....
now who is this Brian..what does he look like? is he really that good of a handler? | Brian comes from a family of handlers "The Livingstons". Parents were handlers....The siblings; are Clint, Veronica and Brian....they've been handling since they were children.......Most larger breeds.
FYI.
Yes, some handlers are great with dogs and do a lot of winning. And it is very well known in the show world that a well known handler can finish a dead cat.....So, something to think about....is your dog winning because it is a good representation of the breed or is the "handler" racking up the points because of who they are. Judges get to know these handlers and will put up a handler and not the dog. Very political in the dog world.
So, that being said, Handling is their business, so it's up to us as exhibitors to only show dogs that are the best of the best, not just rack up Champions to make a name for yourself.
The one thing to remember when showing your dog....is not to be afraid of exhibiting against these handlers. If you've got a good dog...you shouldn't have to be.
Oh! there is no satisfaction in showing your dog if you have to go to out of the way areas to Champion your dog because you're afraid of the competition. A dog that is worthy of being Championed should be able to be shown against good dogs.....no fear. |
