AKC show in Sterling, VA
 
Who's going to the specialty show in Sterling Va on Oct 9th. I will go and I hope to meet some breeders.

New Information
 
Ok. I have the infomation. It's open to the public, no fee. They have around 40-50 dogs for the show. They don't know a what time is gonna be now. They have two days 9-10. They will have obediance trial, sweepstakes, and 2 conformation show. Not dogs allowed.
It's in the Holiday Inn Dulles. YTCA.org clik on Future shows.

I contacted some breeder, so I will go. I'm so excited! I know they will provide a brochure with the name of all the breeders. This is gonna help me a lot to see breeder lines, differences between yorkies and more.

Can someone please take pictures of the grooming area. I would like to see how different handlers set up. Good luck to Ace and all others from this site competing.

The YTCA site indicates Friday's events will run from 6 am to 11 pm. Does anyone have any more detailed information or suggestions for spectators/admirers planning to attend? Also, will there be vendors with wonderful products for me to purchase for my non-show Yorkie?

I know that the first show will be at 11am and the next one at 2pm. I will be there for the second one. I know this info from a breeder who will show a dog.

Obedience Trials start at 8:15, Sweepstakes are at 9:30, 1st show is at 10:30, and the second show is at 2:00. It's going to be a long day but should be loads of fun.

Last year Rhapsody was there selling bows and jewelry. There was also a vender selling beds and other goodies for your pup.

:( I was driving for two hours to be there on time, but the traffic was horrible!! I decided to come back in the las minute because I never will be on time. It's four hours form here to sterling. It tooks me fours instead of two to return to my house. It was the first time that I drive alone for two hours hehehe. I was scary too!

We had the exact same thing happen to us!!! :mad: Traffic was just TERRIBLE!!! After spending an hour in what seemed to be a parking lot of a highway and only getting 10 miles away from home, I threw in the towel and came back home. But, we are going to make another effort at getting to the shows at the Howard County Fairgrounds tomorrow. Hopefully, we will have better luck and actually arrive! :rolleyes:

Sorry you ladies couldn't make it. The traffic was awaful, it took me 4.5 hours to get home when it should have taken 3. We had a great time though.

We took a second place which tickled me to death, there were some amazing puppies there. Betty Anne's Rigair Marshal Gzada took Wd,Laurie's gal took WB and Allante's Finre and Ice took BOB for the first show.
We took second for the second show as well, I missed who took WD, Yvette's gal took WB (yea) and Barbara Scott's beautiful Jimmy took BOB. It was a long day but alot of fun.

I know - Ace and Trey do look a lot alike. Makes me think I need to get Trey out. Yes, Lisa has gorgeous yorkies!!! :thumbup: I am glad that she is back out again. We missed her.

The boy that beat Ace in the first show on Friday took WD yesterday in Wilmington,he beat some very nice dogs. Trey could do the same, he's a nice boy. Ace has a rather slow growing coat but once it hits the floor we'll be going for it!

Are you talking about Rigair Marshal Gzada that won WD? If it is - he is nice.
I was thinking forsure to have Trey out in the Spring. I could get him out sooner, I guess. But most of the dogs here are just dripping in coat and Trey would have to go against them.

Rigair is in open class, he took WD the first show at the Specialty. Tea Times Indian Outlaw won WD at Wilmington yesterday from the 12 -18 month class. Just a small brag, my Preston beat Rigair at the Specialty last year. It's such a shame that he's not being shown anymore.
I'd take Trey to local shows, it's fun.

Friday the judge for the first show was Lydia Coleman Hutchinson and the second was Ruth Zimmerman.
