I love the pic!

There are so many things to learn about grooming and showing.....too numerous to mention in a short period of time. You learn as you go, pick up other tricks along the way and as time goes on, things evolve.

I did not know that the flat iron makes the coat shiny. Is this because of product in the hair or because it catches the light differently?

If you use a good Ceramic Iron, no product is necessary. Especially if the dog has a good silk coat. The only product that is used is a good anti-stat to protect the hair from the heat.
