You're welcome. Biewers are shown under IABCA too. |
thank you. I do not know biewers shown under IABCA as well. Do you show in IABACA?I am very familiar with AKC rules but very new to IABCA. I am so shocked to find out they are auctally going to have shows in Eugene,Oregon next weekend:eek: I am definitely going if it does not conflict with my son's soccer games... Quote:

Frazier was shown in IABCA by his breeder. I showed him under NAKC, but have plans to show in an IABCA show in May. It's all very new to me...but I'm learning. LOL. Right now the leader in points for the 09 Gold cup is a biewer. |
thank you for sharing. I know to be AKC champion, 15 points is needed with at least 2 majors from 2 different judges. How many points it needed to be a Intn Champion? Quote:

It's not the same as an AKC show. The dogs are "rated" by the judges...if they score the highest rating ...they can earn an international championship in 3 shows. Earning under the highest ranking and it would take 4 shows. So it's possible to earn a national or international titles in one weekend. From there...there are higher championship titles they can earn. Here's a link to the various classes... Dog Show Classes I think I have that right...I've read it 100 times. If you poke around on their site...it gives you the champion titles requirements and info on the gold cup. |
thank you again :) Quote:

NAKC is closer to AKC in awarding points toward a championship. You need 15 points plus a 3 point major for an adult championship. |
Just to try to help out a little. I show a Biewer in both NAKC and IABCA. If you are looking for an adult international title with NAKC you need a total of 15 points plus 2 majors (3 or more dogs beat in the same show). It is a little different then AKC in that you can beat any three dogs to receive a major. Maximum points per show is 5. For IABCA they compare your dog against a standard. If you dog meets the requirements and is an excellent representive of the breed it is awarded a V1 ranking. To obtain an adult international title with the IABCA you need three orange cards (this is what they give you to represent your point) with a V1 rank on them. As long as you have a good dog then a championship can be earned in a weekend. I have seen dogs not receive orange cards so not every dog earns them automatically. If you are showing a puppy. With NAKC a puppy 6-12 months can earn a jr. title. You need 10 points plus one major. For IABCA they have national and international titles for different age brackets (3-6, 6-9, 6-12, & 12-15). You need three orange cards with a ranking of SG1 to earn a National title and 4 to earn an International title. The IABCA does not concider yorkies an adult until they are over 15 months of age. There are 18 adult titles you can earn with the IABCA and with NAKC there are 5 (international, grand ch., sup. gr ch, master sup gr ch, hall of fame). Both shows are more relaxed then an AKC show. With the IABCA your dog is given a written critique by each judge. It is a good way to know what the judges are thinking. If you have anymore questions just ask! I think you should go and have fun! |
thank you so much ! Quote:

Hey yorkiegeorge.....see the biewer in 4lilyorkie's avatar? Remember I told you a biewer was the highest ranked in points so far this year....well you just laid eyes on him. :) That's Huey...who is following in his daddy's, Homer, footsteps. |
Hi, thank you for all the info. Your biewers are so pretty...:D Quote:

I wish I have something to show now ! I just had 2 boys born(Charles and Cooper) out my Ch. sired dam and sire is a very pretty Well bred ch sired Yorkie, currently shown in AKC ring with 2 major wins already and just won third in toy group.very soon he will be an AKc champion. He is ownned by Yt memeber. I wish I could keep all of my puppies  but I have already had a male at home and don't need another male. I am wondering Can a yorkie with a full tail been shown in IABCA ? |
Quote:
TAIL : Customarily docked. Docked : Medium length with plenty of hair, darker blue in colour than rest of body, especially at end of tail. Carried a little higher than level of back. Undocked : Plenty of hair, darker blue in colour than rest of body, especially at end of tail. Carried a little higher than level of back. As straight as possible. Length to give a well balanced appearance. |
Thank you so much ! I really appreciate your reply and help one more question. In AKC yorkies are shown under toy group? is this same in IABCA? or are yorkie shown under Terriers as FCI ?:D Quote:
