It's official...
 
I've been holding back announcing this because it still feels so surreal to me. On Saturday and Sunday (7/12-7/13) in the cool fog of the Del Monte KC shows in Carmel, CA Diesel accumulated his final 3 points to finish his championship.

Diesel is now officially CH Pastyme's American Dream. I am even more proud that he and I were able to do this as a team with all owner-handled points.

A huge thank you to everyone who made this possible and to his breeders for trusting me with such an amazing boy. I want to also publicly thank Tea and Natalie (I know you are reading this!) as you have been the best mentors one could have ever asked for.

Diesel has now been promoted to, his previously unofficial role of, "spoiled pet." To celebrate on Sunday, he went swimming (at his request), attacked the sprinklers and dug lots of little holes in the mud--his idea of Diesel-topia. By dusk he was a walking mud ball with hair wraps but he wouldn't have wanted it any other way!

A huge congratulations to you and Diesel!...Way to go!...What a great acheivement the two of you have made!...Can't wait to see the official picture!

Congratulations on Diesel's championship. I know how proud you must feel, especially knowing that he was finished owner-handled. He is a beautiful dog.

OMG CONGRATULATIONS!!!!! You DO have wonderful mentors!!!! I've met them both and you are in GREAT HANDS!!!

I have to say again CONGRATULATIONS! It is nice finishing owner/handler :)
It's a GREAT achievement and it's a great feeling! I'm so proud of you and I KNOW Tea and Natalie and your breeder are very proud of you!!! Wait until you finish one from the bred by class that is also a great feeling!!! YOU GO GIRL!!!

Wow...the Bred By class!! This is probably a ways away for me but that would be amazing! I have goosebumps just thinking about it!!

Donna--if you can believe it, those girls drove out 2 1/2 hours just to see him finish on Sunday!! They have no idea how much that meant to me!

Girl, one day you'll get that bred by class champion and it will be the most awesome feeling in the world!! I know it was for me when Harvey finished from the bred by class! Harvey was my first yorkie to champion myself breeder/owner/handler and it was an awesome feeling! Then came Radar owner/hander finished and GIRL I KNOW YOU ARE PROUD OF YOURSELF because we are ALL proud of you!!!
I can believe Tea and Natalie coming all that way to see you finish! They both are WONDERFUL!!!! You are lucky to have them as mentors!!!

Aww...you are so sweet.

Diesel has a photo shoot with Tea sometime in the future (omg she and her husband do PHENOMINAL work--you have to check out some of the portraits she's taken of my Doberman too). Ironically Diesel scratched out his topknot 2 weeks ago--so bad that I almost pulled him from the show. When I got home from work it looked like a scene from a horror film-he was covered in blood and there was a nice bald spot the size of a quarter on his forehead. He's been really itchy with all of the ash in the air from all of the fires burning over here. Needless to say we are waiting for that to grow out before the shoot but I am so anxious to see Tea capture him on film.

The joke of the weekend was that he finished with a bald spot:D
