The Yorkshire Terrier Magazine
 
How many issues are published each year? On the website it says published quarterly (which would be 4) but each magazine says jan/feb, march/april, etc which leads me to believe you get 6 issues a year...so which is it?

It was recently changed to 4 issues per year...

$50 a year just seems like a lot for only 4 magazines...

I completely agree! This last issue it seems was a little late getting out also. I know several people that advertised in that issue since it was supposed to be out before New York...It was, but I only received mine 2 days before....not good.. Wish someone could get another great magazine out (here in the US), or that Paige would be able to go back to 6 issues a year.

Even six issues at $50/year was expensive but I thought worth the expense. My last 2 issues were very late too. I would probably continue my subscription if I were a exhibitor. I just can't justify the expense though since I'm not showing.

Yeah...I have a few old copies that I borrowed from someone that I've been looking through. I have a a late 2006 issue and two 2007 issues. I don't show either but am really interested in it and love to look at the pictures and read the articles. I just don't know if it's worth the money though since I'm not involved in showing.

If I'm not mistaken you used to be able to purchase single copies and I might do this for the annual stud issue. It has the most pictures of the yearly issues. They do have excellent articles but once again geared to the exhibitor. So although great information and I enjoy learning, it's just hard to justify $.

I really enjoy Yorky Club Magazine. It is an international magazine but there are enough american dogs to make it worth the money. The last issue did a feature on Betty Ann Durrer and a wonderful piece on Wildweir; there was an article on Caraneal a few issues ago. Every issue has articles on grooming and training that I always find helpful. You get 2 issues a year as a club member and I think it is $50 to join.

You can even get Yorky Club on ebay! It's a little over $18. an issue. It's gone up because the dollar isn't worth as much compared to the Euro.

Your right, it's an excellent magazine. The articles are very good!

The magazine you see in the petstores is not the same Yorkshire Terrier magazine as the one being discussed. As far as I know it is not sold in petstores only through subscription.

I used to think the same thing until the difference was pointed out out me too. You would think two magazines couldn't have the exact same name, hmmm?LOL One is geared to the yorkie exhibitors, the other more towards pet owners.

I've really enjoyed reading and looking at the three magazines I borrowed. My birthday is next month and my parents always ask me what I want so I told my mom I wanted a subscription for my B-day :D

The stud issue that comes out at the first of the year is my favorite. It would be a good one to start with.

I love your profile. Tiffany's is my favorite store and Ms Golightly is the perfect example of an elegantly dressed woman.

My husband never has to wonder what to buy me for Christmas and my birthday.

One of the magazines I borrowed is the Stud Issue from last year. If I subscribe within the next month, will I get the issue that already came out this year too? Or will it start with the 2nd issue?

I subscribed about this time of year and I asked that the Stud Issue be my first.

The stud issue for 2007 is smaller than the one for 2006, I was a bit dissapointed. My subscription was my birthday present to me this year.

And they said that the issues would come less frequently and be bigger...

When I renewed my subscription, I paid for 3 years. If I knew it was going to change to 4 a year, I would have not renewed and just bought the issues I wanted. I learn more from Yorkie Club anyway. I subscribe to Top Notch Toys
and a lot of YT breeders advertise there.

Wow, 50 is high, we subscribe to magazines and pay about $30ish for a year, one LA Dog which never ever arrived and the customer service said too bad.
