This was my biggest concern about the DQ added.
Your are correct, I did not state it properly. I should have stated it more as a chemical coating rather than a color added. The result is the same in that the steel color is now a blue-black rather than a steel blue.

Breeders of Yorkies have always and will always have different ideas of what the correct color is and hopefully we will be able to make it thru the next 4 and 1/2 years. I have been to several shows where the dogs were nearly white and did not get DQ'd (and I just knew that they would be), so I think that most of the Judges will not enforce the DQ so strictly as it is written. We just have to watch out for the few that will.

the one Roslie Anderson DQ'ed is too light and should have been that is why I would continue to show to her. Those that DQ a puppy I will not waste my money on. But someone that DQ's an adult yorkie that is too light I don't have a problem with as in almost white!

I think her head is way too light for her age and you will receive a SUCM. If it isn't a rich gold now it won't be later.

I noticed over the weekend that two dogs were DQ'ed in Colorado on 2/15 by judge Marcie Dobkin and one in Florida by judge Thomas Daniel. Does anyone know the reasons?

Only thing I heard was one of the ones in CO was too light in one of the older classes but not quite sure.

Not sure about the one in FL but the bitch in Colorado was DQed for being too light and the dog that was DQed hadnt broken to blue yet

Donna and Michelle, thanks. I wish I knew what two light was. I have seen plenty of light ones that don't get DQ'ed. The dog in Florida got WD and BOB one day and DQ'ed the next....go figure.

Yeah funny how the one in Florida got breed one day and DQ'ed the next...
Some judges won't use the DQ when it's needed and some judges use the DQ when it's not warranted so its all what the judge wants to do in their ring on that day.

I was told she was very silver...almost whitish silver and very blonde on the head. But that she was a very nice bitch otherwise.

I know the male was Riverwalk Tax Man and if that is the same male I am thinking about he is nearly 3 years old and just needs a major to finish. I don't remember him being too dark.

I'd show to Mildred Bryant....she's dumped me but I've also won under her. She does have her type of yorkie she likes, just take the right dog to her. She likes a medium size yorkie. Not too big, not too little. They have to be a medium blue. I do like her even though I have lost under her ;)

I believe he's not a young dog and I've seen him show. Not sure what kind of points he has because I haven't looked but he's on the darker side.

She had 2 dogs there. The 1 in bred by is the 1 that just needs the major, but the 1 that was Dq'd doesn't have any majors yet. The judge DQ'd 1 dog for not breaking to blue and the other for too light. We were all caught off guard, but as the standard is written the judge was within her rights.
