show hopeful going down the drain!! 4 Attachment(s) this is dancer:eek: I was really hoping to show her but she is just 3.5 pound's at 6 months is there a small chance she will have a growth spurt? her mom was 6 and dad was 5.5 I dont get it my heart is breaking:( |
I have no idea about showing, but she sure is beautiful. How big does she need to be to show? 4lbs? Can she still compete in puppy classes? As you can probably tell, I know nothing about showing, but I appreciate those of you who do. |
I hope that she has a growth spurt so that you can show her. She is so beautiful that she would win hands down. I love her coat! |
that is one beautiful girl! |
Oh My she is so pretty:) I dont know anything about showing, as far as a growth spurt, molly is 10mths and still only 3.8, I keep waiting for one to. she is still very healthy though:D best to you:) |
I was told That the female gets heavier when she is mature, and able to have puppies.....not sure if that is true or not.......I do see at the shows that most girls need to be 5 ish.....I think...depending on the judge... Good luck she is a cutie...:) |
She is very pretty......I have seen some small females in the ring....maybe give her a try and see what response you get from the judges in the puppy classes.....plus it gives you more time to see if she will grow anymore. |
size She has a decent size frame, leg, neck, not squatty like so many 3 pounders...I would wait and see..she could certainly go another pound...and they are showing a much smaller Yorkie now then in years past... |
Well whatever she does, she is a beauty, She's already won in my opinion. Good luck and hope she is all you hope for. |
She's so pretty!! I'd give her a shot in the ring and see what the judges say. If they say she's too small you can always send her to me :D:D:D |
She is only 6 months old. I would hold on to her for awhile. She just might top 5 lbs at 14 months. she is beautiful and cobby, great top-line. I wish my show hopeful would have gotten a little bigger. Both parents are 6 1/2 lbs and she is only 3 1/2 lbs at 1 year old. I hate starting over again!!! |
18 months most dogs grow till 18months |

OMGosh, she is Beautiful....love her coat....I would say love her no matter what....so or no show...she still is a cutie.... |
i have already told you what I would do. i wouldd put her in the ring in the puppy classes as others have said and see what kind of reaction you get. My girl weighs a little under four pounds and did well with her first show as you know. acouple of the judges were wild about her. But even if she is small at one year old, I am still going to show her unless she is finished by then. |
I hope she has a growth spurt! She is BEAUTIFUL! How did you get her coat so long and beautiful? Chip is almost 1 and he still has all his puppy hair. |

I think there is a lot of hope for this girl. I finished my Toulie at 4 pounds and she was just a bit over a year, by the time she was old enough to breed she was 5 pounds. Don't give up to early , you can always place a older girl if she does not turn out for show. |
I am hoping so I will be starting her in conformation classes in Jan it is hard to finish a small girl on the east coast they tend to like bigger dog's |
Try not to worry about what every one else is doing or showing , show what you like. If she is pretty and sound that is all you need. And the bonus is you can show her in the Bred By Class, the judge won't know how old she is..... |
I have found many judges liking the smaller size yorkies lately. Gi was 4 pounds for a long time and then finally made it to 5 pounds. Most came when she hit the 1 year old mark, so there is still hope for her. Just give her time to mature and the hormones to set well in. Gi finished in 3 weekends. So don't give up yet. Best of luck with her! |
She is very beautifull, I would also wait and hold on for her! Sorry we have no pounds here in Europe, but I can tell you that my Show and Brod Bitch was just 2,3kg when I started showing her in Junior classes, she only got a "Good" cause the judge thought she will be too small in future. Well now she is a Multi Ch. and BISS Winner and weights 2,9 kg. So donīt worry, some lines need more time to grow than others, she looks very well proportioned and not as a tiny one to me, great topline and hair, I would give her at least 6 more months to mature! |
Although she is smaller than I like to see at that age, I would wait and see how she matures. Do you know how her parents matured? Like what was their weights at this age? That can give you an idea of what her growth patern might be. Best of luck. Charlie |
wow :eek: she's amazing, i hope she grows that extra pound for you |
Wow Dee. She is adorable and I hope she gets bigger for you but either way she is beautiful. Good Luck at the show. Linda |
She is a nice girl...I agree wait it out! You may be pleasantly suprised! Best of luck with her! |
She is a very nice looking girl, I hope you keep her longer and she gains a bit of weight.. keep us updated if you keep her for the extra and she makes it..' pooh's mum good luck!!! |
I took my little girl that is 6 months old to the vet today and she's almost 4 pounds which gives me hope. Those that know who her mother is Cammie and her father Radar knows their sizes. I think she's going to be like her mother short and cobby. Molly is going to be short and cobby like Cammie her mom! I'm holding out hope she'll grow some! |
4 Attachment(s) well took her to the vet yesterday and she is up to 3.8 just not sure but will wait it out awhile she has a really nice top line did not want to stack today |
3 Attachment(s) this is her half sister kitty my next hopeful she is a little bit bigger and has more leg she will be 4 months old the 11 of jan |
