Why doesn't anybody want me
 

this little girl is adorable. i can't figure out why she is still available. She's a Texas girl and simply adorable

Oh, it just breaks my heart to think that this little girl isn't in the loving home she so deserves. I'll be praying that she finds her forever home soon.

I filled out an application from Puppy Mill Rescue before I got my first Yorkie. They turned my application down. No reason given...it does ask what you would be willing to give as a donation for the adoption and I put $300, which was the going rate at that time for a Chihuahua or Yorkie puppy. Maybe it isn't people wanting to adopt that are lacking, but just a lack of volunteers to process the incoming applications at holiday time?

I read the entire page and never found an adoption amount for her but towards the bottom it says they do adopt out of state so it's not limited to Texans. ;)

BLESS her heart !! She needs a home NOW - but the thing with that rescue is they are really hard to get approval for - they need to lighten up a little I think - I know its alot of work being involved in that kind of work but these dogs need homes....I hope she finds one very soon - I'm tempted to write them myself but at this time it's just not feasible for me to get another dog as much as I want one..:(

I wanted to get a puppy and after looking through petfinder I decided I wanted to rescue a baby. There are so many out there that need loving homes.

Did you go to the site & fill out a ap for her too? If not they probably wont get back to you, Because they will read the email then look for the ap, if its not there they wont reply. Do you know what her fee is, I have seen as high as $600. I filled out a ap w/another rescue, followed up with a email & pic of my family, said I could give up to $1000 & that I figured yearly costs would be at least $1000 for care & if more was needed I have master card. I was approved but the yorkie I wanted was gone. If you dont have a fenced yard or have kids under 5yrs old you will probably not be denied:( but I wish you luck:)

I only sent her an email. I'll just wait a few days and see if anyone gets back to me.:) My property is fenced in and my kids are 16 & 11 yrs old and do not plan on having anymore skinkids:D
I do not know what her adoption fee is.

good luck Timmy, i hope you hear back from the foster mom. it would be excellent if you were able to adopt her. i've seen her on petfinder for months now and its just such a shame she hasn't found a home yet.

oh i hope someone does adopt her, when i was looking for a yorkie i had to keep calling and finally i would either get someone or i would get an answer to an email or something,
one rescue iw ould call and then they woudltn answer and then i would call right back and they would answer some times you ahve to bug or the pup may get taken to someone else.
just keep calling and keep bugging and emailing and explain to them you really would like to adopt her to your loving home.

Well I gave it a try, so we'll see what happens. I put you guys as references. What's to be will be, and as you said sometimes they are just ridiculous as to what they want from you.

PMR is based in NJ, I believe, but they foster out their dogs to various states. They have been known to conduct a sort of "PM railroad" in order to transport their rescues out of state to volunteer fosters. If you look at all their available rescues, they're all listed with a state near their name to show where what state they are located in...

This is not relevant to the rescue, but are greenies dangerous for dogs????

I have emailed her as well. She did email me back but it took a couple of days. I have sent another email to her, I expect it will be another couple of days. Maybe I have gotten answers from her that you have asked. Let me know & I can tell you the responses I got.

I mentioned I found her off of YT and the lady said she isnt sure how I found her on YT, that she wasnt a member. I explained that there are ALOT of YTers that are rescue dog supporters and one of them happend across Dory and posted a link to her page.
Maybe.... she will allow one of the YTers adopt her after hearing that.

good luck, Dory seems like the perfect pet ... she seems to have a good temperment and surely is pretty ... Maybe the adoption agency DOES need to lighten up ... anyone willing to pay and transport a baby should be indicative of a good person (but maybe I am naive???)
But WE know YTers are good people .... that goes without saying ....

Perhaps it's not that anyone doesn't want her, more than a logistical problem. I live in IL. I've been looking for a Yorkie since before Xmas. There aren't any available in IL. I can not go to Texas for a dog. That is too far!! So, I won't even put an application in for her. Just a thought!

this rescue group works all over the country and does a railroad if the home is well suited for the particular yorkie. :)

Well... it has been 4-5 days since my last email to them and no response. I did receive one email response back but I guess only 1 response per person:confused: . I just cant imagine having ppl email you about a specific dog asking about them for adoption and them not responding to the emails. That is so sad.

Just so you guys who were interested in adopting from Puppymill Rescue, one of the requirements before your application can be processed is a $6 donation towards the cause. I posted the info. below. I know that rescues can sometimes seem like a pain in the butt with what they are looking for, but they really are just looking out for the best available home for the dog. I know for a fact that Puppymill Rescue is very reputable. I believe it was 20/20 that did a story on them not too long ago. I personally, try to support them when I'm able by buying raffle tickets. Anyway, I hope those that applied make out well. She's precious. Elaine

Well, I think she's adorable. And I would take her in a heartbeat if I thought they'd let me. I'd even drive to Texas to pick her up (from TN), but from everyone's comments it seems as though my chances of getting her would be slim to none. I hope those who responded get answers soon!

if i lived alone and not with my parents i'd try to adopt from PMR and a bunch of others too. i want to rescue a greyhound.

i just don't think its fair to the dog right now since i started a job that keeps me out late sometimes and i'm away for sometimes 10 hours. Also my parents would totally FLIP out. i'm lucky i have the one right now.

Yes. Very. I know from personal experience with my dog, Tahoe, who suffers from pancreatitis and other digestive problems, I am told resulted from damage because I gave him one of the smallest size greenies a week and it became lodged in him. I was fortunate enough that we were able to save his life. I didn't know they were bad. As soon as I said that he eats "greenies", my vet knew right away what his problem was. He said that it's common knowledge in the vet community that Greenies can kill your dog. It was after we experienced this that I found all sorts of info on the web...many similar cases....

It drives me absolutely berzerk that PetSmart and PetCo sell this product and use it as an "impulse" item at all their cash registers. They continue to carry it despite my telling the manager and salespeople what it does to dogs. No concerns for dog's well being.

I've read they've changed their formula, but I don't believe a thing they say because they denied the dangers for YEARS despite countless deaths.

I'll repost this as its own thread in the appropriate forum.
