Senior Yorkie in Washington Looking for Retirement Home
 
Hi everyone :) I found this little guy on Craigslist and he is in need of a forever home. I actually contacted his owner to see if they wanted me to foster him through YHR, but they wanted to find him a home on their own. His owner is having surgery this week, so I am dog sitting for her... and he is the sweetest and most laid back little guy I have ever met.

He is about 10 years old, neutered, has no teeth (and tongue sticks out :)) and is an absolute sweetheart.

His family is searching for an older couple or person who is home a lot. They will not consider anyone with children under 10 and they want to be able to see where he is going.

Please contact me if you are interested in this little guy... His owner can no longer take care of him and he needs someone to love him in his senior years. They are not looking to get anything for him, just want him to find the perfect home.

I have been watching Rocky for the past few days and he is the sweetest little guy. I haven't heard a peep out of him and he is the most laid back yorkie I've ever met.

Here are some pictures of him... tongue and all :)

Rocky deserves someone like you Rescuemomma... I just don't know if his owner would be willing to let him go without seeing where he will be living. I will have to talk to her once she heals up from from her surgery. He is going back with her on Monday.

Put in a good word for me and let me know! If she'd like to talk to other rescuers who have been to my home, see pictures, talk to my vet, whatever she wants - I'd be happy to do whatever she wants so she knows what kind of home he'd be going to! I'd so love to give another little old toothless man a special loving home, my heart and home feels so empty without and little old Yorkie to love and spoil! I'm leaving for Idaho tomorrow evening, I'll probably be back and forth between Northern Utah and Southern Idaho for a week or two - I'm sure I could figure out how to get him from Washington to Idaho if she'd be willing to accept me as a suitable home for him!

I emailed her tonight... I will cross my fingers for you. She had said she wanted to keep him until the end of October, but I will message you when I get a response.

He is a handsome guy, bless your heart for watching him for his owner. I will keep him in my prayers. Rescuemomma would be a perfect match for him.

If I were closer I would take him in a minute, I love the seniors and for some reason Sophie Kate seems to like the elderly ones a lot more than babies.

I know she would be the perfect home... Just waiting to hear from the owner. I don't know how she will feel about not being able to go to her home.

My two seem to do really well with the seniors too... My last foster, Shelly was a senior and they loved her too.

Awww, thanks guys, feeling so overwhelmed right now - but I just feel this boy is ment to be with me, I can't get him off my mind, just hope his mom agrees

I was so lucky to get Aussie a year & 1/2 ago - he's 11 now. I love having my little senior. I hope rescuemomma can get this little guy too :aimeeyork

Couvers mom, you are so sweet and generous to keep this little guy in your home for them! And he is a cutie!! Rescuemomma, like the others, I also have my fingers crossed for you!! The two of you sound like a perfect match!

Rocky went back to his owner's home yesterday. She is going to continue looking for a home for him. She wants to meet the new owner and unfortunately for Rocky, Rescuemomma lives too far away to do that :(

It was really hard to bring him back... He was the sweetest little guy and had really blossomed while in our care. Even DH said that if we didn't already have 2 dogs, he would be staying with us...

Well it's not quite over yet. I've spoken with Rocky's momma, she's asking for pictures f y home and yard, references, vet reference, etc. If she is pleased after that, she will fly to Vegas with Rocky to meet me and see my home for herself - and plan on leaving him if she likes me and my home. I am hopeful, I really think I could give him the home and life he deserves!

I'm so glad she changed her mind. I really hope things work out. Keep me updated :D

Rocky is back with us again. We are fostering him until the owners can find him a home. He really deserves someone that can spend all day at home with him.

Nope. Rescuemomma has too much on her plate right now to take in another. We are still searching for Rocky's forever home :)
