TX - Desperate need for foster home for 11wk old puppy!

Guys, whoever is fostering him needs to have him checked for hydro. I have a couple of hydro dogs and I recognize the look. The wide set eyes or they are sometimes called east/west eyes because they bulge and each seems to look in different directions. This would also explain the eating problems and slow growth. Just watch for other signs of hydro, hyperactivity, strange gait (back legs), open fontanele, domed forehead, circling,
pressing head against objects. This is one of the signs I wish everyone would learn before they go looking for a "teacup" (no such thing, I know). Sometimes there is a reason a dog is a tiny. You just need to be careful if you are buying one. Of course this little guy is already here and needs help. Thank goodness there are people willing to work with them. Good Luck.

Yes, thank you, that is one of my concerns as well because he has a strange gait...prancing in his front legs. I have a pup with hydrocephalus and he walks in a similar fashion....although it is not as distinct in Baylor. I did mention it to his foster mom. He went to her vet today and they had some other issues to address. I did not speak with her until after she went, so she can have the vet check his gait on his next appt. The good news is that today he is 1 lb 2 oz

I did notice the sparse hair on his feet and legs though. Do we know why this is?

Edit to add sparse hair around his eyes as well.

Yes, my first thought was demodex mange. The vet did a skin scraping and he has an infection. He also had a broken nail, so he is on antibiotics now.

I am so hopeful this little guy does not have any sort of neurological issues.

Baylor is doing really well!! His gait looks fine as do his eyes. I am thinking the flash on the camera made him look funny. Here is a video his foster mom sent of him playing with her pup. Coco is, I believe, right around 3 pounds. You can really see how tiny this little man is:

I am happy hear that Baylor is doing good. What a cute video of him playing. Prayers do still continue for Baylor.
