YHR's has a pup, Summer, that needs help!
 
YHR has a new rescue pup named Summer who needs your prayers. Summer came to us from a shelter where she had been turned in after being mauled by a large dog. Sadly the people had kept her until her wounds were horribly infected before turning her over to Animal Control...

I copied and pasted this. This dog needs help. If you can, please help. Basil and Caper are making a donation.

Teddy Bumpkins avoided surgery (for the moment anyway) for his Leggs Calves Perthes disease. Teddy wanted to send a little something to Summer so we did. We are rooting for this little darling!! She has been through so much, and deserves a loving rest of her life with someone special.

Summer is such a sweety and has captured my heart. Even after all her abuse and pain, she still wags her tail at everyone who is trying to help her.

Since there are new members on Yorkie Talk that may not know where to go to donate to help with the cost of her care, or see updates on Summer, I hope it's ok to post this link:

I've put this on my facebook and on a skincare forum and I know of one person who donated! You never know who you might reach so post and forward about Summer EVERYWHERE!!

Just seeing this thread. :) Thank you, Steve! Thank you, all of you, for your prayers and support!

Summer is hanging in and is just a totally amazing little pupster. Her will to live is incredible! I am updating the website daily and also the other thread in Sick & Injured.

Will keep an eye on this one as well. I hope to have new pics of her tomorrow! :)

I just read her story and I can't believe what a fighter this little girl is, she seems so sweet. My heart hurts for the pain shes gone through but I just hope that she gets better and goes to someone that can love her for the angel she is!

Summer's morning report is a good one! She already had her dressings changed today and tolerated it well. They did not use general anesthesia and are hopeful that there will be no more necrosis. Her wounds are showing some healing!

They are still waiting on the sensitivity reports.

So..nothing new except that they lowered the boom about her bill....but I was expecting that. Oh...and she is still wagging her tail and eating well!

The student assigned to her did take some pics of her and will email them to me later on.

We've been on vacation and wasn't on YT very much and didn't know Summer was so sick. We stopped by YHR and left a donation for the sweet girl.

Thanks for the reminder. I donated last night. This is a sweet little one that did not deserve to have to suffer this pain.

Just received a call from the student assigned to Summer and the report this morning is encouraging!

Summer's wounds are draining less and have good granulation tissue. They may be able to close one up in a few days. The other one is much more invasive and it make take a few more days after that for it to be closed.

Her coagulation is looking much better since yesterday so they took her off of plasma and are now using hetastarch.

No news yet on the sensitivity.

She is eating anything they put in front of her! She has a nice cushy bed in her little cage she said and whenever anyone walks up to her she promptly stands up and wags her little tail.

A totally precious little baby!!

They are hoping the sensitivity report will be in today so they can make a decision regarding antibiotics. They did say that she probably will be there until next week. If I hear more later on, I will update! :)

Yep! I am just thrilled. On Wed of last week I thought we were going to lose her. It was a difficult week. I can now think about her leaving that place! :)
