So amazing the change. So thankfull for all who have loved and cared, and given Roriee a new lease on life. An especially big hug to her foster parents and the great medical team I know it is early days, but I am just so very happy that she is not in pain, and looking bright, alert and happy |

Just checking in on Roriee. I have packed and moved classroom supplies ALL day. However, I could not go to bed without finding out about little Roriee. Thanks Linda for the new update and picture..:) yay! She is so adorable and looks amazing in her picture. Hope her vision is okay, but yet I am thankful for her improving health. Love to Roriee. |

Many thanks to all of you for your warm wishes. I spoke with Jen, Roriee's foster mom today. She said to let all of you know that she is so appreciative of your well wishes and prayers for Roriee and your kind words sent to her! She really does not have time to do YT, but she does read this thread each day. :) |

Glad to hear she is still doing well. I may not get to check in for a couple of days. So on our Memorial Day wkend we call it Victoria Day - I'll wish upon all the beautifull lights of the firecrackers for happy days Roriee, stay well, and take good care of your foster mom n dad. |

New Roriee Update As posted on the YHR site this evening. I was talking with Roriee's foster mom last night and heard this darling little yip yap. It was Roriee! It was so cute to hear her barking!! :) Definitely made my day! 05/21/10 – Roriee is still doing really well from her last chemo treatment and goes in next week for the next round. We did have to take her in the other day because her leg wasn’t healing from where they had put the catheter in and it had become abscessed and was bothering her. The doctor cleaned it really well, took a tissue sample, stapled her up, and put a bandage on that will need to remain for 10 to 14 days to help it heal. Being her white blood count was down from the chemo treatment, her body wasn’t able to heal and fight it off as good as it could have. She is on antibiotics and we will determine if those need to change based on the results from the tissue. In cleaning and digging into this abscess, the doctor found that one of her tendons had torn in her leg that helps with her ability to flex her toes and extend and bend her leg. The doctor said this could have been caused from the prednisone, which can weaken the tendons, and possibly in combination with the catheter being put in. They can do a surgery to fix it, but since we are in the very early stages of her GME treatment we felt it was best to hold off on doing anything at this point. The tendon will not cause her any pain nor will it hinder her ability to walk and move around. She may just have trouble with flexing her toes and may have her leg extend every once in a while because of it. She is a real trooper and it hasn’t brought her spirits down at all. She is still as sweet and happy as can be! |
