What makes me want to scream is the word twisting and mind games we have been subjected to. She clearly insinuated in the other thread that she was going to go to the vet and do what he had suggested......and left it open for us to guess, euthanasia.

When we all jumped on that, she denied it and said oh no she would NOT put her to sleep. She then told us some elaborate story.

THEN, at the end of that thread she admitted that the one vet had suggested euthanasia. SO...bottom line that IS what she meant all along.

She has failed Mindy...and I know there will be people who will say not, but I do not for one minute believe she went out of her way to get this pup in a rescue.
So....now she admits she is going to euthanize her. In this case, I hate to say it, but at least it will save Mindy from any more chaos of living in a home with all those pups...two litters to boot! She is "tethered" to her. Yah...ok.

This is a woman who cannot stand to keep puppies beyond 8 weeks at most...she does not have the time (her words, not mine) ...so HOW would we even believe for one minute that she has time to care for a special needs pup like Mindy?

IF this pup DID come from where you said, Karla, my suggestion to you is to NEVER attempt rescue again. You are not a rescuer. You are a breeder who does not even have time to care for your puppies after the age of 8 weeks. (this is on your website, so not my insinuations here)

RIP Mindy...you did not deserve this hell on earth. :(

My advice to her would be to get ALL dogs out of her life since she clearly does not have the time, money and/or patience.

All I can say is karma is a you know what.

This is really heartbreaking.
I understand she took in this dog from someone else and wasn't aware of the problems involved, what I don't understand is not trying to find training or behavior help from a professional. I understand it costs money, but if you aren't willing or in a position to do so, then turning over to a rescue should have been done long before now.
When we got Camden at 2 1/2yrs of age, she had issues from the way she was living & had been treated. We have gone to training classes, met with a behavior specialist, etc.. She has improved, though some things I think are permanent and this was also the opinion of the behaviorist we consulted with, but I wouldn't have ever dreamed of putting her to sleep!
If you have exhausted all training, behavior, medical options and everyone involved concurs there is no hope for this animal, I guess then tough decisions would have to be made.
But, unless I missed it, she tried working with Mindy herself, but never any professional help, correct? That to me is just unfair to this dog.
At the very least to not pay to ship the dog to rescue or someone who has offered to take her in, I don't get.

She may have started out with good intentions in taking Mindy, but it's important for people to understand that when you adopt a dog it may have issues & you need to have a plan on how you are going to handle that financially & otherwise.
Otherwise, you are right, you are failing the animal, pure & simple!
I may have missed it, so someone can correct me, but I never read where she really researched out the costs & options of training, behavior, etc..
I just heard comments about it being expensive & her husband not wanting to put out any money & that she agreed.
I didn't read where she researched the cost of shipping the dog to the those who offered to take her, only guesses at it being too much.
I'm guessing she wanted someone to offer to pay it all, I don't know!
I recall that she wanted to donate to help out Roriee, why in the world would you also not be willing to donate for the help of a dog in your own home!

She did not want to donate. That was NOT her purpose in that thread. I received an extremely nasty pm from her about Roriee about how we should put her to sleep. She never had any intention of donating...she was just being her usual self.

In looking at some of her recent posts, she hasn't had a problem buying stylish leashes & dog beds. I'm sure she could have paid for some training or a consultation or something instead!
I could not live with myself if I hadn't exhausted all my options and just put her to sleep.

If you are still reading this, our trainer here in RI is willing to take Mindy into rescue. Getting her to the east coast would be require donations for the transport but we've already heard from some that they would kick in the cost.

Do not be so heartless - you are incompetent to make the decision to PTS on a behavioral issue and so is your veterinarian unless he/she is also a board certified behaviorist. This is not to insult you or you vet but you are not a behaviorist.

Please do not put Mindy to sleep.

Jodi has already helped another YT'er with my trainer - I leave the coordination to Jodi as she is an experienced rescuer and I would not pretend to be one. I'm happy to help with the cost of the transport.

PLEASE MOMMADOG1 -- email Jodi and let our trainer here take Mindy. She is highly experienced with aggressive dogs - she's the trainer every other trainer calls when they can't figure it out. That dog would shape up and learn manners in NO TIME. And it doesn't cost you a dime to do this!!!!

Mommadog1 is well aware of your trainer in RI. When I offered to help on Monday I told her then if the rescue near her did not work out there was PLAN B which is/was RI. Why she sent me that email this morning saying that she was having Mindy PTS is beyond me! She did have a second option but she closed all communication as well as her YT account. :(
