Looking for a good home for female Yorkie in Champaign, IL I have a 9 month old baby girl in need of a loving home. This little girl is very affectionate, friendly, curious, active, and rarely barks. She is current on all of her shots (including rabies), micro chipped, heart worm tested (negative) she is NOT spayed, and will go on the puppy pads but needs supervision for accidents. I am currently in Champaign, IL , I will charge a $200 adoption fee please PM me if you are seriously interested. :aimeeyork |

Hello, she is up for adoption because I am a bit overwhelmed with school, work, and caring for my grandmother. She is a lovely little girl and I think the best thing to do is to find her a home where she will receive the love and attention she deserves. |
She is ADORABLE. wish she was closer Id take her. |
How big is your baby? What did you name her? I'm in Duluth, MN so I am interested. |

I have been in contact with this gal. I'm not worried about getting her spayed if I get her. In the spring I can bring her to my reservation and they will spay her for next to nothing. And we don't have any boys here!! |

No disrespect, but if you have to wait that long to be able to pay for a spay, what will you do if an unexpected illness comes along? |
Yes, please have your little girl spayed before letting her go to a new home. You can never be too careful with these little dogs, they are extremely popular and people seek them out for resale or for breeding whether they have papers or not. |
It makes no difference to me. It's just that the Fon du Lac Indian Reservation has the Humane Society come up and give shots and neuters or spays any tribal member's pets for a very low fee. Spaying will only cost $20. So I thought to save some money by spaying her then and the rest of the money would go into my emergency pet fund. I am not planning on breeding this dog. All I was doing was helping out and if you all think that I shouldn't get this dog that is fine with me. Let me know because I was thinking on driving down this next weekend. |
It is not up to me who gets this pup. I was merely asking questions. I don't know you at all. IF this were my pup, I would be doing all kinds of reference checks with the very most important one being a vet check on anyone interested in her. I strongly advise anyone who is rehoming their pup to alter him/her prior to placement for very obvious reasons. One is to avoid the pup ending up with a bad breeding situation. Also of interest is that it is better to spay prior to the first heat cycle. Each heat cycle increases the risk of mammary tumors. There also is a risk of pyometria although that is usually in older unspayed pups who have not been bred. Anyway....it is better to spay for more than just one reason! |

Yes, I have pet insurance on all my dogs. I also have money set aside for pet emergencies. I learnt that lesson when I was dealing with Max. |

Thanks for taking this little one in!! Enjoy her! |
Pet insurance does not cover spays? I would think so! You might want to investigate this. I was looking back at some of your threads. What ever happened to Mikey, the young rescue you had? |

This is the internet and people can tell you anything you want to hear...heck they do that in person! I never knew how many liars there were until I started getting involved in rescue. We all must be very careful not to assume that all people are ok...think about this.......... Jeffrey Dahmer somehow got young men to come to his home, didn't he? Jim Jones got people to drink purple koolaid... The list is endless. Now...I am NOT suggesting anything is wrong with this woman..I don't even know her, but to make a blanket statement about someone you have never met is mind blowing and naive to me. |
Can I just say WOW! It is amazing how others read and assume information that is not in a post. I hope this baby finds a good home. Beyond that I will no longer comment on how other interpret the posts here. It is between the two individuals involved and I wish them good luck. |

Since it is a public forum about rescue, and since I am somewhat knowledgeable about rescue, I feel an obligation to assist anyone rehoming their pups in any way that I can. I owe it to the voiceless little pups. |

Mikey got way too rough for my yorkie, Misty. And he sure didn't look like a Yorkie. My vet said that he looked more like a shephard than anything else. Anyways, after catching him with his jaws around Misty's neck, that was it. I could never leave both of them home together if I had to leave the house. So, I placed an ad in our weekly shopper for Mikey. I got a call from a gal that lived maybe 15 miles from me. We talked and got to know each other since I don't beleive in just getting rid of a dog. I visited her house without Mikey and met the family, 3 children ages 4 to 8 and saw what they had set up for Mikey. When I was comfortable that they could take care of him and his needs, I brought Mikey to them. I was given an open door invitation and have spoken with her every couple of weeks. Mikey has grown bigger and has the run of the house and alternates sleeping with the kids. This family loves and cares for this dog. |
WOW!! I sure hope the original poster comes back to keep trying to find her little pup a caring home with someone on yorkietalk! Maybe if someone is REALLY interested in helping this little one get a loving home, maybe they should send the OP a private message......best to the little puppy girl. |

Did you ask if we did? Because ACTUALLY that is one of the FIRST things I DID do. |

You know, I think people can change, lots of us on YT felt so sorry for Max, his lack of medical treatment and his neglect when you allowed him to jump up and down off the couch with 2 broken legs. Everything I am saying is in your post about Broken Legs. With that being said, I do believe people can change from a tragic event in their lives. I hope you have put aside funds for your 3 dogs you have now and this new one. Its a rescues job to check the person out thoroughly including a home check and a vet check that includes regular dentals. Please research your vet and make sure they specialize in small breeds, and their choice for anesthesia. Pablo is going in on tuesday for neuter and dental, $600 dollars. He will have heart monitor, IV fluids, heated op. table and pain meds after surgery. Its not cheap but I have done my research. Good Luck to you. |
