What is the purpose of this forum? The name of this forum is: Yorkie Rescues & New Homes Needed I would think that is self explanatory. I am stunned that a new poster was jumped on today for trying to rehome her yorkies. She said she needed help...instead she was told how awful she is. This reminds me of the saying: "Be sure your brain is in gear before putting your mouth in motion"...in this case, it is the KEYBOARD. |

While I could never imagine parting with my pup for any reason, it's not my job to judge other people and their situations. I don't like it when others judge me for babying my pup and dressing her up and all that, so I want to respect other people's decisions as well. If someone is abusing a dog, that's a different story. Plus, we don't know the full story behind the rehoming. When someone has a baby, they could have medical problems or something like that. Maybe they just fear they wouldn't be able to spend the time and give the love they used to be able to give to the pups. In cases like this, it's better to keep criticizing thoughts to yourself and just try to do your best to help the pups being rehomed. I appreciate owners who care enough about their pups to try and rehome them to someone they believe will give their pups a great great life instead of just abandoning them to the streets or giving them to anyone willing to drive over or pay the fee. Without people who care for their pups enough to put effort into meeting and approving of a loving rehome, I wouldn't have gotten my Addie. |

Exactly! Or dumping them in a shelter where they are at high risk of being euthanized. Thank you for a well written post! |

Hopefully she has her messages being forwarded to her email! Take the time to PM her just in case. I know a few people have already...maybe that will bring her back. I hope so! |

There is a right way and a wrong way to address someone considering to rehome or surrender a pup. Being judgmental and pointing fingers is not the way to win someone over to your side. Until you have walked in the shoes of someone working to encourage an owner to turn their pup over do not point fingers because when you point 1, 3 are still pointed back at you. I sent the OP from the other thread a very nice PM asking that she please consider coming back to talk about her pups. There are plenty of people who come into this forum to try to do the right thing when something like this occurs. There are rescues in her area that might have been able to help or possibly connect her with someone looking to adopt. All that I really care about is that the pups get a good new home. Someone mentioned dog fighting bait~~~well don't you think that could happen now if she turns to a Craigslist Ad or drops them at the pound  I'm hoping that we can all learn from this and take a different path in the future. Otherwise, what is the point of this entire forum? :( |
I posted the question if she was rehoming because of having a baby. I have to admit, I had to bite my tongue on what was going through my mind. It seems as we are quick to judge before an explanation is given, however, I think that it is because of the hearts of all that these comments were made. |

I agree with the rest of this thread as well. I think of everything that I've learned since I've joined yorkietalk. I realize how little I knew before. I'm thankful that I wasn't scared away by the response to my first post. |

Sad thing though is that what you are saying is true. I do appreciate the rest of your post...I just had to quote this one. :p |

I hope she will come back and let someone help her re-home her babies ... they are adorable. Like another poster said, we don't know her circumstances and shouldn't be quick to judge. |

I'm thankful the op of the other thread is being responsible and trying to find a good home, and I'm glad that they made there way here. Ugh, when I think what craigslist could lead to. |
She has been a member since Sept 08 which I noticed right away when I read her post. What struck me was that she joined almost a year ago and then she remembered to come back for help. What did she get instead~ a kick in her @$$ I'm hoping that she will come back again. There are a LOT of 20 somethings that post on YT. I wish there was a way to track some of these 20 yrs old to see what they are doing 5, 6, or 7 yrs from now. I will guarantee that some with their holier than thou attitudes will be looking for new home for their Yorkies once they settle down and start having children. I would be willing to bet $$$$ on it too. I can't seem to upload my UFO pictures  |
