How sad! Poor little thing,,, I've checked into that shelter before,and the first thing they demand is you have a fenced in yard,,,,and I dont... Maybe I'll check agian,,, I think a good home without a fence is better than NO HOME.

I was looking on petfinder this morning and was so shocked at all the yorkies they have on there!! I missed this tiny little girl but there was another tiny girl less than a year old that was getting ready to be put up for adoption. They ALL looked so pitiful and some of the saddest stories I have ever read. It's been a long time since I've looked on one of those sites before and it's so depressing to see. I'm so glad that their are places like that who rescue animals and help place them in a proper home. If I ever purchase another yorkie...it will definitely be a rescue!!! I have two adults and two pups now so I have my hands full, But there are some beautiful yorkies on that site all over the US. Breaks my heart:(

As tiny as she is, I don't see a fenced yard as being a necessity. Now, for a bigger yorkie, I do see it as a necessity because they require more space to run in and go potty.

I think she is so pitiful. I agree that a good home without a fence is better than NO HOME.

I'm not so sure...Maximus is almost 6 lbs..and I don't have a fenced in yard but I do take him for walks, to the park and he has run of the living room when I am not home..the vet told me he is getting more then enough excercise ...so I really think it depends on how often they are allowed to roam (walk)..IMHO

if someone can give her lots of love plenty of walks who needs a fenced in yard she needs a mommy to love her and show her what its like to live with a family play with toys, oh i do hope someone goes and gets her i would if i could.
how can some people be so cruel it breaks my heart to see and read these and for each one that is saved its one less being miss treated.

here i am reading this and giving my rosie fresh chicken and hand feeding her it and theres this poor baby thats got nothing and has no idea what love is how sad

I was talking about the one's about twice Maximus' size. :D They really do need to run and play without leashes. That's the size I am used to having. I don't think a 6 pounder needs that much space. It would just be a fun addition, though. :)

What a sad story! I hope someone addopts her. I cant imagine why someone left in her in a cage all the time!!!!

She was in the cage all the time because she was in a puppy mill. Poor thing. They want a home without children - I tried to find a rescue before I got Gus but it's not that easy if you have kids.

She's a pretty little yorkie. Lots of those yorkies look scruffy and unappealing to the eye but with a little TLC and lots of attention and someone to properly take care of their coat they would be beautiful. I feel so sorry for them.

I think of it like this...if someone was too take a picture of Maximus after palying outside and tumbling around inthe wet grass they would...say WHAT A MESS..doesn't she brush him!!!...I do 2x a day...but by looking at him you could never tell...even after I am done he shakes it out :D..but once he is inside and bathed and combed he looks normal again and you would never know...lol!! Once they come to their forvere home and have had time I bet they will look like a million bucks also...

I checked it again,,, i was confused.... it asks if you have a fenced yard, not that you have to have one,,, I was thinking of another rescue that demands that you do...

I know.. I hate that! I don't have a fence, but it doesn't mean I don't love my yorkies.. I take the time to take each out one at a time.

The breeder kept Chewey in a 3 foot run. I don't have a yard per se, but damn, it's better than a cage! He does get at least one (if not two) walks per day and then several hours of personal attention.

Isn't that the same yorkie that got broken legs from the owners boyfriend a couple of months ago? :mad: I thought someone on YorkieTalk paid for her surgery then and was going to adopt her. She looks like such a sweet furbaby. We have our hands full with 2 babies now, but I'm sure someone on here will be willing to give her a "forever home". We don't have a fence yard either but our girls are indoors most of the time due to the fact that there are a lot of wild animals around and hawks that could pick them up and carry them away in an instant.

Yeah! No Children!! My girls are awesome with my dogs, I dont understand that. It's like I cant teach my kids to be easy with an abused dog? They have rescued one b/f, along with us of course, that stuff just burns my buns! :mad:

This one reminds me of our Honey Pie. This is 4 homes later . She was all bones when I got her.Just over a lb. now 2 lb 9 oz The jack azz's left her in a tiny crate full time. Like the ones you take your cat to in the vet. A tiny hand held one. She was very afraid of everyone. When they went to bed at night they left her down stairs. Poor little girl can't go up and down stairs by herself. She is really frail boned. You think they would have taken her up at night. Two yrs later she's coming along very well but she's still wacky.We'll just give her tons of love and watch our baby blossom very slowly.This is a pic of Honey Pie. She's so beautiful and so shy.Now she gets to sit on my desk and help me in the office.

I would love to have her if i wasent so far away so Rosi could have playmate, i would spoil her beyond believe !!! Dont have fenced yard either, but have all the time since i am retired !
