If there was just one good samaritan with a large truck or van who could go get them I know that there are a lot of rescue organization in the middle and southern parts of Florida (both coasts) who would be able to take one or two each... before ya know it, they would all be placed. But it is the location that is the trickiest part of this entire story. I feel so badly for those poor babies, but sometimes our hands are tied. I cannot save them all (how I wish I could) and neither can other rescue groups. So many of them are full now. We do the best we can but it is so frustrating when our best efforts are simply not good enough. :wavecry: Thanks for all who have contacted me. If there are any yorkies coming down south please call me at Florida Yorkie Rescue. (772-291-8101) Thanks and God Bless your all! Kit |

I can help!!! I live in Pensacola ,Fl. I can take 1-2 female yorkies!!!Let me know! Natalie 850-437-0382 |
New York Is there a way that a female could be transported to western NY? I am a grandma, don't have a lot of money and have been looking for a female to adopt. I have a neutered male schnoodle, (my husbands boy) and have wanted a Yorkie for a long time. The only reason I am interested in a female is that I think our boy would be more accepting of a female. I would have her spayed. I am not looking to breed. If there is a way, please let me know. Thanks. |

Can't get through still I am in central Florida and would be glad to try and help out. I didn't get an answer at the home phone and the voice mail box was full on the cell. I would be glad to take a couple - I know several people that would love to adopt a yorkie. Nancy (352) 249-0802 = home (352) 697-1238 = cell |
Cannot get in touch with... I am wanting to go to where the yorkies are and pick a few. The phone numbers listed are not valid. No one answers or returns the messages that have been received. Has anyone spoken with her? I really would like to get them before they go to the pound.:animal-pa |

Still trying to help I still haven't been able to get in contact with anyone. I know a retired couple looking for an adult yorkie and I also know someone that works closely with the Humanitarians of Citrus county that take in dogs(and cats) -have them vet checked , spay/neuter, and placed in foster homes until a permanent home can be found. I also would be glad to foster some of the yorkies till we can place them new permanent homes. Please contact me by phone or e-mail if I can do anything to help. I posted my phone numbers earlier and my e-mail address is nancyb715@yahoo.com. |
All Yorkies Taken I just spoke with Becky Scott. All Yorkies have been adopted. She said they went fast. The relative was able to place them before she could get her hands on them to help out. |

All Gone Vickie- Thank you for your concern. I am trying to find a dream yorkie and stumbled upon this great site. I just simply picked up the phone and got Becky right away at her home. I'm sure you could do the same...and spoke with her. I got the answer that everyone was looking for, so I signed up and posetd a message right away to help out. I appreciate your curiosity, but a quick call would verify my information. Geez....Just trying to help out :( |

I didnt man to offend you but if you read back through this thread you'll see why I asked. Literally hundreds of people have been trying to help this tragic situation so you can see, I hope, why I questioned you. It's such wonderful news that all were rehomed. Too bad there weren't enough to go around. BTW Thanks for letting us all know. (Breathing a sigh of relief!) |
Disturbing Results I just got this email forwarded to me this morning regarding the 40 Yorkies... Subject: Yokies in Starke, FL - UPDATE Hello everyone, My name is Dianne Schultz and I'm a member of United Yorkie Rescue here in Florida. I have tried to write to anyone and everyone who may have either forwarded this email to someone else, and who may have forwarded to me, and others who forwarded it directly to me. I spoke with Becky Scott this morning - she said that the deceased owner's son gave away most of the yorkies involved in this situation, but that there were also maltese and poodles and some cats that she was working on getting out of the home. This was an overwhelming situation for everyone and thanks to all who offered to help! Becky said that she thought her mailbox was full so I wanted to give all an update. The dogs apparently were in horrible shape, very unsocialized and all needing extensive medical care - so it's certain that some of them will be returned ............ sigh.............. A post script to this email was from a personal friend of mine who sent this to me. She added: Remember the 40 yorkies in need? Well the stupid guy stood in front of the courthouse and GAVE THEM AWAY to anyone who would take them! This was posted in on of the groups but it doesnt tell that part! I sincerely hope this is not true. Has anyone else heard a story like this? ...That the guy stood in front of the courthouse and just handed over the dogs to anyone who walked by? If true, I bet within a few weeks, many of those dogs will end up at the humane society or worse. SHAME ON HIM!!! |
For the Cockatoos Also guys as a mom to a U2 (Umbrella Cockatoo) please lets not forget them either. PLEASE OP contact The Bailey Foundation out of PA. The Bailey Foundation or All About Cockatoos - MyToos.com. Mytoos is a forum is much like our Yorkie forum and members there will know all the reputable rescues for Cockatoos to contact. These are extremely intelligent and extremely sweet parrots and deserve better then a life in cages. If they have many this woman may not only have been a dog breeder (or small puppymill with 40 dogs) but also a bird breeder. And, if you think the puppymills are bad you have never seen a bird mill. PLEASE OP contact the two places I listed above. Bailey Foundation is a wonderful rescue located in PA and the owner/operator may be able to lead you to someone in Florida. Elaine |
