Biewer Male approx 10 months old I received in an email notification this morning: He is so Adorable!!!:) Skippy's Web Page |
Oh my, he is beautiful. I wish I was in PA :( |
He is a baby doll for sure. I hope he finds the perfect home. |
I wish there were more information. How did a 10 month old puppy land up in a rescue? Most contracts say if a puppy or dog needs to be rehomed, the breeder is supposed to be notified. I am really annoyed. |
Dee, is there anyway to find out who the breeder of this dog was? |

Happens all of the time! People don't care. Look at what Ellen D did...totally violated an adoption contract and then went on national tv and whined about the rescue taking the pup back. |
It is really Sad this Adorable guy is in a rescue @age 10 months old. It says he is now in a foster home though. It only says that his owner had to give him up because they had other dogs and could not give him the care he needs. So, we really don't know if this is someone who breeds themselves or someone else?? Anyway, I hope this beautiful Biewer finds a Loving "Forever" Home very soon. Wish I could get him. |
I suppose if he was turned in with any paperwork the breeder could be identified. So we don't know if the breeder was the person who turned him in because --horrors, he was 10 months old and not sold--or the buyer who maybe didn't think he was as cute now that he was maturing from a puppy to a dog. I am really puzzled here. If the breeder was not contactable or cooperative, the owner I suppose did the right thing but it breaks my heart. |
Better that he is in a rescue than turned into a shelter and put up for grabs to the first person who comes along. |

Please don't treat this thread as a debate. I am already angry as to what has transpired here and what is transpiring out there in the Biewer community. |
I am quite sure this rescue will work to put him in a home that will be the best for him! I have no idea why people think that rescues should not charge adoption fees. I don't see that $500 is high at all! I don't care if he is a Biewer.....not even an AKC recognized breed anyway...although that is another topic all to itself....he is a puppy and that would indicate a higher fee. I will say that the wording the rescue is using seems to be capitalizing on the popularity of this pup being a Biewer and don't totally understand WHY, but forget all of that and focus on the fact that he is a puppy who needs a good home! Clearly he did not have an owner who thought before they purchased and I am not sure who placed him in that home; but at least the owner did put some thought into placing him somewhere that will hopefully be his last move. Rescues take in many special needs pups and need to recoup vet expenses, although in saying that, I can tell you that they simply could NOT survive on adoption fees alone! Just go do a search sometime on Guidestar.org and see what the rescues spend on vetting! One advantage in having a bit higher fees is that you weed out the people looking for a cheap yorkie. Rescue is NOT for people looking for a cheap pet. IF they want cheap more times than not they simply cannot afford the upkeep of a yorkie. If this group does what I suspect they do, they will evaluate this puppy and place him in a home suited to HIS needs; and see that he never is turned over to another home again! That is the goal of most rescues and most people who adopt know that...and support rescue! I do not see where anyone can say this owner was irresponsible.......I SEE irresponsible every single day in shelters, on Craig's List .. hey...even on YT. Just because people are on a message board and say they love yorkies, does not make them responsible owners. Now....I am NOT saying that no one on YT is responsible. Just wanted to hopefully counter the negative rescue comments. |

People will pay $500 for a puppy! I have seen many yorkie mixed pups go for up to $600 without a blink of the eye. The amount of time he is in rescue is not important. Where he finally ends up is! |
