Ozzy is having a difficult day. :( He woke up this morning crying, shaking and unable to stand. I called and got more pain meds for him and he has been sleeping most of the afternoon.
Hopefully tomorrow will be a better day for him.

Poor Ozzy :( I know you are taking very good care of him and he will be up and feeling much better very soon.

I think it will be very difficult for Ozzie to stand. My Piper had Legg Perthes and had the hip surgery on December 29. She didn't put that leg on the floor for a good 2 weeks and it was another week or so before she started putting any weight on the foot. I can't imagine what poor Ozzie is going through having to have both hips done at once. He is in my thoughts and prayers.

I am happy to report that the Oz man is really doing well today! He is able to stand, but can only bear weight for short periods. He is his yappy little self and running me ragged trying to figure out what he is wanting. He cracks me up! This one is definitely true to his breed.....
Anyway....here are some pics I just took. I had to work quickly and did not get great shots as he only stands for short bursts.....At least you can see how he is standing and walking. Also, the one pic shows where the growth was removed from his side and you can also see where he has that kyphosis of his spine.
He is a total doll!! I have a feeling that since he was in pain for so long, this is nothing compared to that and that is why he is recovering so well....that plus the fact he is a spunky little terrier! And, the specialist who did the surgery is phenomenal. He is a well respected Board Certified surgeon, and we have used him before with great results for our pups. He did his best to keep the incisions as small as possible and tried to avoid cutting too much of the muscle so that the recovery will be shorter.

Is that her in your avatar? If so, she is a doll baby!! She is one of the lucky ones to have a person who loves her and cares for her. :)

Just look at him go :dogwalk: Truman has a video and I think it would only be fair to make one for Ozzy too. Add a little music say maybe the Ozzy song BARK AT THE MOON :sidesplt:

Yes, that is Piper, and she says thanks for the compliment. If you look in my album I have a couple pictures of her after her surgery. She was not a happy camper. She was only 8 months old, scared and in pain. I felt so bad for her. She has come a long way since then. We just returned from a 4 mile walk on the beach and she used her leg the whole way. I'm so proud of her. I know Ozzie will be running and playing before you know it.

I talked to LadyJane and Ozzy is doing better every day. He is a very determined little guy who insists on going potty outside even after his great big surgery. He is getter stronger every day. GO OZZY! :dogwalk:
