10 YORKIES Rescued from home I hope this is OK to post - This just happened in Bimingham NY.... I just got an email from a friend of mine who is a total yorkie lover - she asked that her name not be mentioned as she had something to do with the rescue and would like to keep in the background.....Let me say this - She did a WONDERFUL thing with these poor babies ...4 Puppies and 6 Adults were found in a home with no air ...food or clean water. The owner was on a so called 'trip' - The Humane Society stepped up and took possession of these 10 yorkies ...quickly. They are looking for ANY donations - shampoos etc....AND offering adoptions for 10 yorkies - They are not ready yet for adoption yet...but are hoping people will call or send what they can - IF ANYONE is interested in helping or adopting one of these yorkies .....please go to the site for their phone number. Here is the website and contact info for the Humane Society where the Yorkies are. [/I] http://members.petfinder.org/~NY71/home.html Copy of parts of Her EMAIL: Our local Humane Society has all 10 Yorkies which are all surrendered. All in time will be up for adoption and I was told they would be 100.00 each. They are still working on vet care and with 10 Yorkies coming in on top of the animals they already have they could use help. I was told that the adults need dental care and have received shots and been vet checked. The puppies needed all shots and wormings. I was hoping some Yorkietalk members might want to help with their care. While there they were going for a food run to Sam's club and a local super market I believe donated some items. I was hoping members could maybe donate anything from food, hair products to cash donations. Anything to help. It would be best if anyone wanting to help could contact The Binghamton Humane Society and ask what they need most. I am sure shampoo is not on their list of needs but with 10 Yorkies they need good stuff not hartz . We are going to donate all we can to help and I am going to volunteer my time. All I know is they will be there for some time before released for adoption, I guess because of lots of red tape. It breaks our heart to see them there but we know we did the right thing. In time all will have a new home hopefully with some Yorkie lovers. |
omg That is so sad if I lived by you I would gladly help. :) dianne :) |
Oh my goodness, this is so sad, but so good at the same time. I am glad someone stepped in to save these poor babies. |
I am very glad that your friend have something to do with this Yorkie rescue . Enough is enough with the dogs , cats and others animals abuse . Recently , I reported a woman who was keeping german shepherd dogs and Golden Retrievers in her basement . for your friend , she is a very good person  |
This was very nice of your friend to help better these Yorkies lifes. If I was close I would take one in a minute. |
Just Got This Email This Am I just received another email - THIS is copied directly from what she said about these 10 yorkies: Villette the puppies are beautiful I mean extra pretty. Those puppies are some of the prettiest I have ever seen. The adults are also very pretty. It really is a beautiful bunch of yorkies anyone would just love to have. They all look total yorkie not terrier or oversized. One girl who is 18 months is to die for.She is a petite 3 1/2 to 4 pounds or so beautiful silk with that beautiful Yorkie face.Mommy is very pretty too..I have never seen anything offered for adoption that was as pretty as these |
Villette , reading you post make me want to have another . If I didn't live so far , I would adopt one . |
Awww those poor babies! I'm so glad your friend was able to help save them. I'm on the website right now and checking this out. |
I would love to get one, but I highly doubt my husband would let me drive/fly to New York from Indiana. But we've never been to New york maybe we could make a vacation out of it. |
I'm TOTALLY wishing I lived closer - At $100.00 ...these yorkies will go fast - the little Mix that was in there with the yorkies is already on the site for adoption - the yorkies will be getting up to date on all their shots etc. then THEY go for adoption - My friend says they are AWESOME yorkies ...I think she's feeling much better now that they're being cared for and in a safe place. |
I would love to have the little girl. But theres no way I can get there. :( |
That's a great story. I'm glad they got out of there. I wish I could take one of the dogs. I don't really have anything to donate :( |
Kristy - that was sweet - I think they're doing better than was thought yesterday - they still need hair conditioner and my friend is actually using her own - She's my new Hero ! I offered to mail some and she said she thinks they have that part covered - the main thing is they are always taking donations - The Humane Society runs off private donatations...This isn't a plug for money - just a fact....so....If anyone ever gets that urge - there are 10 yorkies needing that. The pictures she sent show VERY cute puppies - I'm so proud of her ! |
tried to send an email to see where to send money, came back as bad address, got a new one |
Maybe someone from the Midwest can go get the yorkies for those of us out here who wish to give them a good home? |

Villette here is their info..They could e-mail and say they want to give to the Yorkies so the money only goes to them. They have a donation button but that would be for all the dogs. The Humane Society Binghamton, NY 607-724-3709 BHumanesoc@AOL.com |
Our home town has a Humane Society thats this couple owns, They are so good to the animals there and even put a dog of the week picture in the paper every week. They never put them to sleep unless some thing is very wrong with them . They took it over a few years ago and I really like them. they ask for help with donatations for all the animals and a lot of the town helps, it's just a very nice place and a lot of kind hearted people. Villette can we see the pictures of the Yorkies? |

I can pm you with pics - I think there may be 2 that already could be finding new homes - My friend even went to the dollar store today and bought a bunch of treats and things for them - her heart is really going out to these poor babies...they're so lucky she found them when she did ! |
hey villette i would love to see pics... |
I just want to make a point, here. These animals might not be released into adoptive homes for a while. If charges are brought, the animals will need to be kept as evidence, In that case, they are very carefully watched and fostered til after the hearing AND (this is the real SAD thing) the courts might find her not guilty and allow her to have them back.. That has happened here in MD. Hope N.Y. is different.. |

I think I found ONE puppy a new home when they are released and deemed healthy - The person that wants one will be the BEST mom ! |
Villette, can you please send me photos? |
Thank God for good people God Bless your friend for stepping in and saving those wonderful dogs. I shall check the site and give what I can. Thanks for keeping us informed. Rox mom of Maxwell & Zeus |

I am very interested and will be in the New York (I live in lowell ma almost 5 hours away) area next weekend for a footbal game. I just sent you a pm Redvett. I hope they will allow me to since I have ' younger kids' but they are awesome with Tiny They are so loving and gentle with him. I cant wait to call them and/or get a response from redvette :D |
They have all been adopted. :) |
Did anyone at YT about any of them? |
UPDATE ! They all HAVE been adopted ...I waited after I heard the puppies were gone to find out who was still left so I could post it - and my friend said they ALL are gone - THEY WENT FAST ! :) My friend was under the impression they would be kept a little longer - but nope - they FLEW out the door with new families - One of my good friends tried to get one... and the day she called - the little puppies were already gone - so this is GREAT news - Yorkies are a very lucky breed as far as finding good homes after a rescue.... Sorry to those who were interested - and thank you for trying...moving FAST is the way to go when we hear these stories ... |
I am so glad that they have found new homes . There are so many dogs in the world that will probably never find one . I was really touch by your story and was waiting for a happy ending . |
