HELP finding the cheapest but effecient training pads Hello yorkie talk its been a while. im in desperate need of a large quantity of training pads for my 1 year old yorkie Dollar. wee wee pads seem to work well but with my financial situation dwindling, i bought some of the "cheaper" pads but they just leak right thru causing MASSIVE damage to my wood floors. ive been searching online and they have TOO many to choose from so i was hoping someone from the community would like to give their 2 cents and recommend where and what to buy. thanks a bunch, all comments are appreciated.:animal-pa |
Get washable ones! They don't leak and after the initial purchase their free to use over and over, just the cost of washing them. |
I'm a great believer in the washable ones too, Joey likes them better, they stay in place, and your helping to "save the planet." Go green! |
I've found the Out brand ones from Walmart to be the best. I believe they are $6 or 7 for 32. I bought some "pee pads" online that were actually hospital pads and once they peed on them once they were ruined. |

Why were they ruined? That's weird. Did you wash them? |

Oh, I thought you meant the reusable ones. I have tried the disposable hospital ones also. They were terrible! Nothing there to absorb the moisture. |

I plan on getting the washable ones too for my new puppy. One question if anyone can answer. :D Right now my puppy (still with breeder cause he is only 5 weeks old) is peeing on regular pee pads. Will the switch to the washable ones be to confusing for him or will he just automatcially start using them. I think Im going to buy a few this week and give one to the breeder for her to start using, so he is already use to to it. I think I just answered my own question, but other opioins are welcome. ;) |
Mine aren't really cheap, but, in the long run, they come out cheaper, as you don't have to change them out as much. I go through drsfostersmith.com type in piddle pads..I get whichever ones are on sale, right now, it's the biodegradeable ones. My preference is the xtra that they have on their, as they really absorb well. I have bought the cheap ones in the past, but, in the long run, they have ended up costing me more, as I'm always changing them out.. |
I was buying the Jump start from Petsmart at 27.00 for 50 and that got to expensive with multiple dogs so I now use the OUT from Walmart which work fine and cost 6.97 for 32. I do use washable ones and place one disposable one on top since mine tend to wander when going and it offers extra protection. |
i buy mine from sam's club-adult incontinence pads. you get 120 pads for about $27. and while they're a little bit bigger than the normal sized pads, i find they hold just as well as the ones i buy from walmart, target, petco, etc. |
Our Walmart now has the Blue Ribbon Deluxe pads. You can get 100 for 23.00 |
thanks for the prompt response everyone. i will be stopping by walmart today to look for the OUT pads. also if anyone can recommend a washable pad that would be perfect. once again thanks to yorkietalk and especially the people who responded so fast. |
I got my washable pads from Little Bit in the above post. I absolutely love them. |
