Washable Potty Pads Sale!! 4 Attachment(s) Washable Potty Pads are now on sale for only $10 each plus shipping. I got some new fabrics today! Attachment 146110 Attachment 146111 Attachment 146113 Attachment 146116 You can see the rest of my fabric choices here: http://s165.photobucket.com/albums/u...#37;20Samples/ These are made from reclaimed underpads that hospitals use that I have put new 100% cotton tops on. The fabrics are prewashed and tested for absorbency before I use them. They are very absorbent and big aproximately 30 inches x 34 inches. They have an excellent waterproof barrier that doesn't leak! |
Nancy, I really like your new fabrics! I'm looking forward to trying the one I ordered from you with Gizmo. Those disposable ones are getting pricey. I think these look so much nicer too! :D |

PM'd you. If you just PM me what fabric/fabrics you want and your zip code (so I can figure out the postage) I can send you a paypal invoice or let me know if you would like to pay another way. I don't charge extra for the paypal fees and the postage is whatever the post office charges me. Nancy |
Ok, I might sound dumb...but I never really pee pad trained Chloe. I did once and she torn the pee pad up really bad!! Do you think she would do the same to the washable one? How do I wash it? Does it dry fast? How do I train her to use it? Thanks!!:D |

It would be EXTREMELY hard to tear up these! I have some boys that used to tear up the paper ones. They don't mess with these except to go potty on them. I had no problem changing over. In fact when I first put it down they immediately went over and peed on it. They don't slide all around like paper and they don't leak. I got tired of finding puddles under my paper pads, so I switched to washable ones and won't be going back. They are easy to wash. Just use the regular cycle in warm water. I would run it through a prewash cycle first, then the regular wash. Tumble dry on low or medium low. They dry faster than thick towels. Or if you don't have a prewash cycle run a short wash or rinse cycle first before the regular one. Don't use bleach. I have been using them for quite awhile and they still look great! They don't seem to retain the smells at all, maybe the dogs can smell something, but I can't. Even my new puppies know to go there. I keep one in their pen and one out in the room for the bigger (adult) dogs and when I get the puppies out to play with the big dogs they know to go on the pad. Amazingly I have never had an accident in the big room with the puppies and I didn't even show them the pad! They just went there on their own! If you haven't had her going on pads at all just put her there whenever she first gets up in the morning or whenever she shows signs of needing to go potty (sniffing, circling, etc). If you get some of her poo or pee soaked up on a paper towel you can rub a little on the pad so she can smell it and that helps, too. You can buy a similar type spray stuff at Petsmart. I have never had to do that myself. Somehow they just knew to go there. |

How funny! What a cutie  I know, Nancy ships fast...when we got ours, we put each one day and both Mojo and Lily knew what do to. I love them! AND they hold up great in the washer....I don't dry mine in the dryer....I hang them over the shower to dry. AND let me tell you, they look like brand new....AND yes, they have been washed LOTS of times!!! |
How often do you change them? I've been trying to switch from the disposable to the washable and have the baby crib mattress cover pads (did that even make sense?) but Hallie gets VERY frazzled when there is more than 1 pee on a pad. Does it soak up quickly? Thanks, the fabric choices are great too! |
I can't answer the washing question, but I can say that it absorbed quickly. I could still see that it was recent enough to reward him, and that was a concern of mine. Now after about an hour, I can see the spot, but it's not nearly as obvious. |
We have one upstairs and one on the main floor. We have two because Mojo was trained on the main floor and Lily is mainly upstairs with Katelyn. I wash both together and while they are washing, I put down the disposable ones....course, I am getting two more, so I can keep a fabric one down and eliminate the disposable ones. I have the black ones and you don't know if they used it or not unless you catch it pretty soon after they do it.....once it is dried on the black, you can't see it. Now, on Lily's blue one (light blue) you can see it even after it dries. But I think they dry pretty quick...I guess I have never touched it afterwards. I am a cleaning freak and they get washed quiet often...but I have let them go about a week or so without washing and didn't notice a bad smell or anything......but I normally get them washed before a week goes by. AND they hold up great in the washer......I just hang to dry them. (I don't know why, maybe Nancy said that??) Ohhh....Mojo is a picky little guy....He hates smells, but both of them will use the same pad....so I am thinking they dry pretty fast. |
Yea, I wonder that too..how often do we wash the pad?? Or after how many they do their business on it? |
Thank you! That's great to know :) I think I'm going to try these! |
love the camo print! |

I usually change mine every day. Of course I have 6 yorkies. I use one pad in the puppy pen, one in my office where the girls usually stay and if it is raining I put one in the kitchen where the boys stay because even though they have a doggie door, they don't like to go in the rain. You know how that goes  . So I usually use two a day unless it is bad weather. Of course if there is poo on it I pick it up as soon as I see it. I usually only wash a load of them every couple of days so I just fold them in fourths with the dirty side in and put them in a stack on the floor in the laundry room. This way they don't smell even after a couple of days waiting to be washed. It usually soaks up pretty quickly. That is why I get the 100% cotton fabric. But even those fabrics are not all equally as absorbent. I test them after I prewash them and if it doesn't soak in quickly I don't use it. I have a bag of cute fabrics that I bought that didn't pass the test that I will have to think of something to make out of them. It seems that all the cutest fabrics have a finish on them that repels liquids! So I really have to search to find cute and absorbent. |

You can dry them in the dryer. I just would avoid the very high heats. I usually use medium or medium low. I would not use bleach as it can weaken the fabrics and probably affect the leakproof barrier. Bleach substitutes would probably be okay, but so far I haven't had to use them. Everything has come out fine. |

I usually change them daily, but I have been known to leave one down for a few days at a time if it get busy and it doesn't look too soiled. If you only have one dog it would probably be good for longer before you wash it. It depends on personal preferences, yours and the dogs. Some dogs won't go on a pad if they have used several times until you wash it, and some don't care one way or the other. Some only poo on one pad and only pee on another. It's just whatever works best for you and your dog. |
Days of Our Potty Pads...lol I just had to give a brief update. When Gizmo woke up this morning, he bypassed the pee pad we have in our master bathroom and whined at the closed bedroom door. Then, he bypassed the pad in the living room and immediately went all the way to the other side of the house to use the new one Nancy made!!! OMGosh I am so impressed! :D In addition, I couldn't see the stain from last night at all this morning! |
