playpens Does anyone know where I can get a decent sized playpen for Rocky, one that he can't jump out of, and one where he has enough room to play in. I'm looking for one prefferebly under $40, but so far everything I find is like $80. Baby play pens will do, or anything with the same concept. Also, do they make any playpens with like a cover so he can't jump out?? |
I've been keeping an eye out for a playpen too. These are the least expensive that I've found. The first is a fenced play-yard. The second is a playpen. Both under $50. http://www.walmart.com/catalog/produ...uct_id=1762412 http://www.walmart.com/catalog/produ...uct_id=5031425 |

I was just on that site! I'm thinking about the second one, but I think that will be too small. |
Hmmm. You could watch eBay too. I've seen some things there before. How big is your baby? |

He's around 6lbs, atleast last time I weighed him (in the fall) he was almost 6..but I think the same now. I checked Ebay. I saw one softsided, but I'm not to fond of it. I don't know, I really don't want a crate you know |

I didn't think of that. Thanks for the warning |
I kept my little 8 week old in a child's swimming pool. He wasn't able to get out of that for a couple of months and it worked great for accidents. It cost $13 from Walmart. Just a thought. |

Thanks. I got a childs pool for him, but he can jump in and out of it. He's able to actually jump out of the tub. I'm not sure about anything higher than that. Actually, he's able to jump on the bed..I'm afraid he'd jump over something higher too. That's why I'm wondering if they make any like covers for them. |
1 Attachment(s) Heres one on ebay for 42.00 It comes with a top. Playpen |
Where did you get it??? Quote:

That's a nice one. I wonder if it'll be big enough. |
I just ordered the Wal-Mart NorthGate PlayPen it was mentioned in one of the earlier post the first link...........I haven't gotten it in yet but I had posted about this and I'm afraid that it will be to short because as Bailey grows he may learn to jump out of it  its 26'' high.......I think most would recommend to get at least a 30'' and some even get 36'' high just to be on the safe side so that way you know that they cannot get out ;) ........they have this one person on eBay that has pens that are big enough for good prices keep checking eBay you will find it on there.....because I was thinking about ordering mine from there since the Wal-Mart maynot do.....I'll try and go find the link for ya ;) |

Thanks for the advice! The only thing I hate about ebay is when u find a good deal, the shipping is soo high! So it's usually the same cost as buying the item through a store. I told my bf I want a playpen for Rocky, and he says "You've gone to far"...yet he wanted to get a bassenette for Rocky to sleep in! LOL:p |
Just my $0.02 we have just a baby playpen for Logan he learned to jump out at 13 weeks so to solve that problem we stretched a fitted crib sheet over the top. The 1st time we did this we stayed with him to make sure he wouldn't still try to jump out & he didn't. As so as we pull the crib sheet over he just lays down now. Just a thought. |

I actually found mine in my friends trash:blush08: She was throwing it away b/c it had a small rip. I bought some netting and repaired it. Hubby made me a top from paneling...so Dixie stays in it while we are home, and she needs time to herself away from my kids. Other times she is in her kennel. |

1 Attachment(s) Well I put it together and it is a little bulky I'm not sure if I want to keep it our not........I was thinking if I go with the metal kind when Bailey stands up on the playpen will the playpen move or side? Anyhoo this is a pic its not a good one but hey its a pic, its a nice size for Bailey to be in (he's 4 months) :) |

That looks like a really good size! Is there anything you can put on the bottom though (we have carpet where it would go) and do they make covers? Also, where did you get it and how much did it cost? Sorry I'm all 21 questions here... |

I have this one and I love it, because it can be shaped so many ways. Actually I have 2 of them. The only thing is that 2 of my three (adults) can climb out of it. Also I use it more as a gate so I can't put a top on it as one side is a wall. But I was thinking of getting some clear stiff plastic that I could cut into panels to fit each section so that it is a slick surface with no toe holds for climbing. I would probably punch holes in them and attach with tie wraps or laces. Any ideas where I could get something like this? If I can't find the clear plastic stuff I guess I could use fabric, but I just thought it would be nice for them to be able to see outside of the pen. I think it will make a great puppy pen, though, unless you have a real ambitious climber. Nancy M. |
I got one at Walmart for $35.00 - never used - Cheri screamed in it & ended up in bed with me lol - |
