Thanks Cher - I'm glad you think it will work - I value your opinion as someone who shows, you would know what would work best. I'm not crazy about velcro for the closures tho and thought snaps might be easier on hair . I know they would be harder to close tho and wondered what would be preferred. What do you think? Villette - thanks so much. You know what works for you too - would you prefer snaps over velcro? I may have to offer both. I made a final selection on fabric today, it is beautiful. Very pale golden yellow in a very sheer, quality, smooth silk. I'll make one and post a pic in a new thread with more details. |

Actually - now that you mentioned snaps - it would be on the neck area right or tummy ? Are they one piece or wrap around ?? I have some dresses that fit the girls SO perfectly by Connie that the velcro works ok - but some clothes the girls have - if they don't fit to a T ...the velcro tends to either be too long or too short and that's when I run into trouble - the long hair gets caught in the exposed velcro - so from my standpoint - snaps would be awesome....What about snaps up the back instead of the underside ?? I don't sew so I could just be talking like a total moron here lol - I have NO idea what would work best but I DO Like what you did - it's so lightweight looking |
Oh that is an awesome idea about the snaps. I sometimes have trouble with the velcro too |
Okay, I will definitely switch to snaps and they would be easier to snap on top of the back then underneath the tummy. I'm also going to change the sleeves to be more like a tank top. This one didn't fasten around the neck really - it was all on the underside. Let me make another and work with it some. Thanks for the suggestions, I do appreciate knowing what will work and what won't. No sense in putting something on them to protect their hair only to have it not work, right Hey Chachi, I did mail yours out yesterday, so expect it within a few days and let me know? |
I wanted to let everyone know I got the undershirt that Jencar made and I am very pleased with it. It is a pretty soft pink color. I brushed Jewels hair real good before putting it on. I put it on then her dress. When I took off her dress at the end of the evening there was no matting. I highlly recommend these undershirts |

I've started a new thread - "Canine Secret Camisoles" with new pictures. There have been numerous design, fabric changes and very good suggestions. The final designs I believe will work for most everyone. Thank you everyone for the compliments and encouragment. :) |
Silk or Satin? Hi all...is silk better than satin (poly), as far as the staic electricity factor? |
i can make them too or just start lining my custom dresses with satin liners. let me know if anyone wants one! |

Thanks. |
Had another thought: the silk/satin undershirt would have to be form fitting as a dress would slip around that much more on a loose fitting one, thus making matting worse. But if it was a customer fit one I think it's a terrific idea. |
Wow, I would love to buy a few of these as well. I know this original thread is old, but I saw it and checked it out. If any one makes these and can dirrect me to sight to buy them I would certainly but a couple. Willow's hair get's so tangled. |
