Fleece Tie Blankets---Buy One+Donate One to Rescue

Lately I have come to the realization that I'm not doing enough for my local rescue....sooo I have come up with a solution :p

I am making fleece tie blankets...here is how it works:

For every blanket you buy for yourself, I will donate one to the local rescue!

Any additional funds above that will be donated directly to the rescue or buying things they need. I will keep ZERO profits, if there are any. I just really want to help out those dogs less fortunate than ours who have everything under the sun :rolleyes:

I have 8 different styles to choose from right now. They measure 23" by 28", give or take an inch. Also, if you want a bigger one, different size, whatever, just let me know, and we'll decide on a price :)

Pricing is as follows: $10 for each blanket, and $4 for shipping and paypal no matter how many you get. If you want 5 blankets, $4 shipping!

The first two photos show finished blankets & Kobi is approx. 7.5 pounds, so that should give you an idea how big they are. These blankets are not for sale (going directly to the rescue); however, if there is interest in these fabrics, I can go get more from the store, not a problem :p

I think that is a great idea!!! I too feel I need to do more for the shelters amd rescues. Those are cute prints and once people see this they will respond.

What a wonderful thing you are doing. I think we all need to do more. Let me think about which fabric I want and I'll order one for Bella.

This is very thoughtful of you and what could be better than a nice soft blankie to snuggle with. The rescue babies will love them:)

What you are doing is wonderful and more pppl should donate imo. When one of my puppies find their forever homes I donate to a rescue to help less fortunate furkids.:animal-pa

Teri, This is a great idea. I too make blankets for rescues and the Humane Society. It's a great great feeling and a great great cause. Do you have a local Yorkie rescue? I don't know of any around me :( Shipping is what kills ya....its SO EXPENSIVE NOW so lately I have been just going and giving them to the humane society and they are VERY appreciative. I love what your doing and we should get together and have a big ole blanket drive :) Dont your fingers get sore from tieing??? lol mine do :p

I have seen where you've posted that you donate before, which is part of where I got my idea...so THANK YOU :) I'll be honest, I really don't like just giving $$, even to a rescue (though that is probably what they need most :o)...I like to give "things" that they need or what have you, so that's why I thought this would be perfect :p

I don't have a "yorkie" rescue, but the rescue where I got Kiwi from is an all "small house dog" rescue & shelties. So they have many, many, many chi's, a yorkie here or there, pom, etc, etc....so these blankets are perfect for them!

I'm just so happy to do this for these babies who really deserve it!

And, YES, my fingers get SOOOOORE...just one finger on each hand where it rubs...LOL

ETA: We should have a giant blanket drive! But since we're technically allowed to "elicit" donations, that's why I made it buy one, get one (sorta) free ;)

hmmmm Im gonna have to think about this...I TOTALLY wanna do something and I bet we have a few members that would like to help also as far as blankets go :) i guess we can look around online and see if we can find ideas of how to do this.... YAY Im so excited!

Teri! I'm still trying to decide between the ladybugs and the argyle and now you went and added the whales. You are not making my decision easy!!!! I promise to decide which one to get and I want to say, I think it's awesome you are doing this. You are inspiring me to do something as well!

Do you have any fleece fabric that would be holiday (Christmas) themed?
We will be walking in a parade in December and that would be nice and warm to have for their stroller!

Thanks to ALL who have ordered so far! We have 22 blankets going to rescue so far, all thanks to YOU!!!! They are going to be ECSTATIC!

I want to update my list on what I have available....If I don't have it marked as any available, I am going to my "other" fabric store in town tomorrow or Thursday and can likely find it...just means I don't have it on-hand....

We got ours today and thank you so much, they are great, I only have one problem, I made the mistake of opening the box after I got of work today at the Post office and everyone was still there, so I have 2 now out of 5 :eek: ( I had to hide the little toys from them) but thats okay it went for a great cause, thank you so much for donating to the shelter.:D I will get pics if no one else takes them.:p
