Non yorkietalk sellers It kinda irks me when people join YT just to sell us stuff and then it's fake or not really good quality, some of them don't even have yorkies! The members that have stores and are active members don't bother me at all but these that join to advertise get under my skin. Is it just me?? Am I being unreasonable? |
I totally agree.. you see people with two posts, and they are only to see their stuff!!.. i can't stand that either. But on the other hand... they might be nice genuine people who really like yorkie talk! :) |
Yah as long as their posts are not clotting up the forum, I don't mind... |
I agree, I feel much more confortable buying from someone who is a talker and not just here to sell their stuff!! |

I actually agree and I am a seller. But who knows, they may realize how great this forum is and start chatting with us. But ya if they dont even have a yorkie and they dont plan on hanging out in this forum then thats just kinda annoying. Thats just pure soliciting. |
I much rather buy from people I speak to on here than a stranger. At least I know that the people on here really do care for their furbabies. |
It bothers me when someone just join to sell something and doesnt participate at all. If it doesnt clotted the forum is ok, but when all the post are to try to sell something that is a bit annoying. I agreed I feel more comfortable buying from an active member. [I thought that was part of YT rules---that nobody could peddle their goods.] I think that if they only post in the For sale and wanted forum is ok. When they post on other threads then they get deleted. I can be wrong. |

I think marie is right on this bc this was a new rule... They can join just to sell as long as they don't sell outside of the "For Sale" section. They can sell, but we don't have to buy! :D |
You could always look at the number of posts the seller has in the forum and decide whether you want to deal with that particular vendor. Although . . . I admit, it irks me when someone joins only to peddle their wares. |
I am glad this forum is set up to allow us to "shop" as we wish. It is well organized and set up such that we know who the "regulars" are with online stores without it being "crammed down our thraots constantly" and yet we can also choose from stores where the members are not "regulars" here but they still have great stuff. Soem people are just too busy or are smart enough to know how addited these forums are once they get started and stay away for that reason! :D I know it helps admin so I even click on the ads across the top a couple of times a day! I know, sick, huh? |
Kim you are so funny! Stitches you are hilarious! |
Hello, my name is Jane and I'm the owner of "chloescustomharness". I feel strongly that I'am the "seller" that you may be referring to. After reading the past few posts, it is apparent that I have "offended" you guys, for this I sincerely apologize. This however, was never my intention. I realize my mistake was assuming you would by from a "stranger". Who does not happen to own a Yorkie?? Please let me explain. I happen to love and adore all breeds of dogs, small and large. I'm owned by three Chihuahuas who are deeply loved, spoiled, kissed, hugged, and very well cared for. I had the same problem you guys have in finding cute, well made tiny clothes and harnesses for tiny dogs. Especially for males. That is why I started designing and making my own. When I would take my "Chloe" out in public with one of the harnesses I made, someone would always ask me "where did you get that! People loved them! My friend who owns two Yorkies incouraged me to start my own business. The thing is, the majority of my customers are YORKIE OWNERS. It made since to me to post on a Yorkie Forum. I wanted to offer a adorable well made product for a tiny, hard to fit dog. I never intended to become a regular YT since I dont own a Yorkie. I did make the mistake of posting incorrectly in the Introductory Section. However, I asked the Moderator to remove it, so that I could post in the "Products For Sale" section. I did not realize you had to own a Yorkie to do so? Again, I'm sorry for any offence. sincerely, Jane C "Bruisersmom" Moderators feel free to remove my Post...... |
 Kudos to you! I think that you are very brave to stand up and give your part of the story. After all. I do believe that any YTers can make up their minds if they need something that some one has for sale. |
bruisersmom - don't take offense to anything said here as I don't believe you did anything wrong by quickly correcting yourself and posting in the for-sale section. You also have very cute products that are very useful for yorkie owners! I think this thread is likely in response to the person who tried to deceitfully sell fake juicy carriers on here the other day. |
If you post under products for sale, I see no problem. If a person here would like to buy from you that is fine, if they don;t then just go on to the next thread! We are always looking for cute inexpensive accessories for our babies! I am sure that they meant no harm, this is a very nice forum! |
I had replied to a similar thread and here's my thought on it. Just like the seller stated in her claim...some of these sellers may not own yorkies, but have great yorkie items to sell. They may own other small breed dogs but they shouldn't be treated as outcasts. On ebay, people sell yorkie outfits but you will see a Chihuahua modeling the clothes. You might see it different because this is a yorkie forum but hey, if they've got great products to offer, why not? Anyway, maybe we can talk them into getting a yorkie of their own! :) |

I agreed with Bentley's mom. Bruisersmom I do appreciate post of product that are beneficial to our babies even if you dont own a Yorkie. You are rite, your intentions are good and you do have the rite to post your products in the proper thread. You made a mistake and corrected it, I really applaud you. At least in my case i wasnt referring to you in particular. What annoys me is people that come here to advertize their Yorkie pups for sale and then you dont hear anything else from them. Sadly sometimes it end up being a scam. By the way Im looking for a good harness for Gucci. So i will like to check your site. Can u please pm me the link or any info on your harnesses? TY. |

welcome to yt and not evryone is bothered by it. If you see something you dont like just ignore it and and read on. If you choose to buy from someone or not is up to you. We posted a lot of different clothing sites some of which are not yt members so is it really that big a deal. I think not. So to bruisers mom welcome to yt I hope you stay and post with us we love hearing from new people. |

I agree. Welcome to YT and hope that you stick around. When I find something that irks me I usually just move on to the next thread. The only time that I really will post something is when it really does touch me in some way good or bad. Again welcome to YT and i will more than likely be ordering something from you in the future. |

No, it wasn't you I was referring to, I wasn't referring to any one seller and I don't mean to offend anyone. I was just bothered by the people who come on and try to sell fake stuff for high prices and t-shirts that don't even look like dog shirts, but it really is true that if you want to buy from them it is your choice. I really don't want to start anything, it's like T.V. if you don't like the channel you don't have to watch it. So if I don't like the seller or the product I don't have to look at it or buy it. I really didn't mean to offend you Jane, I like your stuff. Jennifer |
I too have advertised clothes for sale here and I did chk with admin to see if it was o.k. and I was told yes, if I did so under products for sale. Initially, I joined the forum because I wanted to get a yorkie and I looked to you all for help and advice in that decision. I have said before and will tell you again, many thanks for all that helped me in deciding to get my sweet little Nikki. As for the clothes, that was because I enjoyed making clothes for her and knew that everyone was looking for clothes reasonably priced. I have made a little money doing so and I also thank those of you who have ordered from me since it went to help pay Nikki's vet bills. Anyway, long story short.........I love the stories, pictures, help and advice and also 'listening' to the various comments' you all have. That is diversity in people and how we learn, so I appreciate all opinions. :) |
Thank You everyone for your sweet and kind responses. I really appreciate it. I was so afraid you guys were upset with me posting, it kept me awake for two nights. I love what I do so much. My children are grown and my dogs are my little constant companions, and the inspiration behind this little business adventure! I did not even know I had a creative side??? ;) I love to get opinions from people, so I can improve my craft. Like I said before, I sell to many Yorkie owners and I adore their little babies. I had a lady ask me if I would make one for her cat! :) Jane C "Bruisersmom" www.chloescustomharness.com |
