Anyone know of the cheapest source of washable puppy pads.. washable puppy pads. I feel horrible for throwing away so many pads, so I was thinking about possibly switching to washable puppy pads. Anyone know of the cheapest source for them? For those who use them, how do you like them? How often do you change them? How many do you have? Thanks! |
I have purchased twice from this company and am very pleased: www.valethics.com I always buy the "reclaimed" pads. I have bought the A27 and B27 styles and have been very pleased with both. I pick up poopies and flush them when they occur and change the pads once daily. |
Those are so much cheaper than the "real" washable puppy pads, and the exact same thing. Shipping is a bit much (isn't all places now-a-days?), but I guess I would make it up by them being so cheap. Thanks so much! How well did they adjust to these from the disposable pads? |
These pads are great!! I have ordered from them several times!! I usually order a bunch so the shipping price isn't that high for me. They wash up great and work so well!! As for them adjusting to them, it take mine any adjusting to them. I just put them down and they just automatically went on them. I was a little afraid to put them down at first. I thought that they wouldn't be able to know the difference between these pads and that they would get confuesed and start going on sheets or blankets but that was not the case at all!! They went on the pads and only on the pads, no confusion. So I think it will be pretty easy, atleast it sure was with all mine!! |
If you sew, I can tell you what I did. On ebay they have "washable crib pads" for I think was 6 bucks each plus shipping. I ordered 3 of them, and cut them up, and made smaller pads out of them. I zig zagged the edges. Venus has been going on them since I put them down. Was the cheapest alternative I could find, as I'm on a very tight budget. |
Thanks for the advice, everyone. :) I think I'm going to order from there later tonight.. once I decide how many I want to get. Thanks! |
maybe making them?? I thought about trying to make them. I agree with you, I hate throwing them away, so bad for the enviroment! |
pads I agree with Cindy..that company has the best deals .... the reclaimed pads are sterilized and in excelelnt condition.... |

Aren't you the clever one!!!!! Thank you so very much for sharing the information Would you be willing to provide a link to the ebay source -- thanks..... |
I know this may seem silly but I bought 2 white 100% cotton bath mats that are reversible so they do not have the traction material on the side. Holly has been using those I just wash it once a day and put the other one down while that one is being washed. It cost about $15 for the two of them and they are really thick so the pee pee does not seep through. I started out by putting the scented pads on top of the bath mat. Then eventually I was able to stop the scented pads and just use the bath mat. I had been trying to teach Holly to go outside only like Lola but with the heat she has started going inside again. So down came the bath mats again LOL. |
I have gotten several from here: http://www.discountpads.com/ They have cheap new as well as good used ones. I have a few dozen pads here and I change them 2 or 3 times a day for my 3 furkids. |
I'm also thinking about using the washable type. This may sound like a stupid question.....but when you wash your pee pads do you use bleach, or just detergent? Don't they get stinky after awhile? Just wondering.;) |
I use washable pads as well. I got some from a friend who works in a hospital, but I also bought some washable/waterproof crib pads form Toys R Us. I believe a 3 pack was $7.99. I wash mine in bleach and hot water to get the stains out but not sure if that is the proper way to sustain the life of the pad. |
Oh, that's a good idea. Wonder how well the baby crib pads hold up compared to the www.valethics.com pads? How do these look? They are only $15 for an eight pack! http://www.walmart.com/catalog/produ...uct_id=4252628 |
I am going to try these what a great idea |
