Someone reccommended Nancy of Blue Sky Yorkies to me. She makes pads that are covered in different fabrics.
Well, I have had two now for almost a year, and they look like the day I just bought them! Honestly, I use only color-safe bleach, detergent, and baking soda, and they have stayed true to color and have not shredded or had any seams tear out. I would definitely reccommend her products to anyone. Not to mention being able to make your own fabric choice and size choice was a big plus. That way I could get it to match the rooms decor and the size I needed to have it fit perfect.

I've heard a lot from all reading all the responses. I only have one but I need the bigger size and leave it down for two days. I never use bleach. Too harsh on the fabric. If you have poop smears on them and don't want to handle them by rubbing in some detergent of spot remover, I'd use non chlorine bleach. Throw some baking soda in if you want them to smell fresher. They don't smell because I flush the poop right away and it's firm enough not to leave any on the pad or very little. I wash mine in just regular warm water and detergent that has whitening ingredients. They come out clean and no smell to MY nose but they need to have a little smell to reuse them. No matter what you use, they, the dogs, can always smell it on them.

I have a shower curtain cut about 3-4 inches wider I lay them on because I have carpet. Urine wets the edges where sewn and mine being male, hits and misses some on the edges. When I wash the pee pads, I throw it in with them. I only dry them a short time. They don't need a long time. I feel this will make them wear longer. I take the shower section out within 10 minutes to take the crinkles out. I buy the reclaimed ones from EZ Whelp. If there are any holes big enough for the urine to soak through, the plastic is underneath to protect my carpet.

I dont use the washable pads, I use the disposables for Lola. So I asked the manufacturer and they told me the pads will hold 16oz of liquid (2cups) The pads are about 1/8in thick with an 8oz soaker.

Ryan is RDB911 that you've been talking with. There is a website that sells used washable pads reasonably that several members recommended - let me see if I can find that website for you.

They look great but I had a time getting him to pee on them and he is used to white. I don't think he'd go on prints.

I haven't compared prices in several months, but when I did I found Ryan's very competetive - especially since his are new. The only thing about them is that the top side is white. My old ones were tan and I just got used to them not showing so much.

I looked up waterproof crib pad from Walmart and Target but haven't gone to look at them yet. Then they say you can use both sides so I assume they have a barrier in the middle. I might try one. I can cut them in half, sew and finish the cut seam and cut off the part that tuck over the mattress. I guess it's worth a try. Has anyone else tried doing this and found it successful? As I stated, I buy the $3.00 shower curtain protectors and cut them bigger than the pads so any overflow stays off the floor. Then I was them as needed with the pad. I usually wait till I have 3 or 4 to wash. In the meantime, I keep them in a soiled diaper container. No order is smelled but I do pick up the waste asap and flush it.
