pet strollers- a do or a don't i think pet strollers are adorable and i want to get one. my fiance' just rolls his eyes. i don't want to be that weird dog lady. what do you think? pet strollers - a do or a don't for you. |
i think it's a personal decision, like dog clothing. there's no do or don't just a personal preference. personally, i prefer to walk my dog. |
I walk my girls lots... But I also have the stroller.... Its great for events where there are LOTS of people, your little ones could get trampled... or long walks, where they could get tuckered out.... And its awesome for softball games where there are tons of young kids who don't understand that your dogs don't want to be poked at for two hours straight! I hate leaving them at home... so the stroller is like a safe haven for them! They love it! And the mall will let the girls in if they are in the stroller... I called ahead and asked! They said YES! I say its a DO! And a very Fun do at that! |
I agree with Kathryn! I walk my dogs alot, but I also have a stroller. I use my stroller when we are around lots of people, I feel it keeps them safer. Its also great for walks because my tiny little girl can't always keep up with my bigger boy, so she can ride & rest. If you do decide to get a stroller I would recommend Happy Trails (pet stroller). It comes in pink and blue. I have the pink one. |
l have a stroller & it helps alot when it comes to vet visits and long journeys... |
I never even thought of taking it to the vet!!!! it would have rocked last week! My vet was running over an hour late! Try sitting over an hour with two in your lap! I hate putting them on the floor at the vets... And I could not set Paris down, she is not finished with her shots yet.... It was a LONG! Vet visit!!! How stupid of me not to think of bringing my stroller! Duh!!! And yes! the Happy Trails brand is Awesome! I love the cup holder!!! And the key tray! The basket underneath is huge! I can put my BIG purse in it along with an extra blanket for the girls, water and extra food and toys... and there is still room for a thing or two if I am shopping! :p I got the pink one too. It comes with the wind and rain cover! But I almost did blue... It would have matched my car... ;) |
I love my stroller! I do have many little ones so it is easier to the groomers, the vet.... the park.... the mall.... I love it. But I hardly see anybody else use it and I do get weird stares! But I don't care... LOL :D |
i always wanted one.. but my bf thinks it's ridiculous, he says strollers are for babies (cause we're having one soon) so he says he'd rather spend it on the stroller for our baby then for the dogs, because he thinks we should walk to dogs.. since i need the exercise anyhow. but i really want one! |
YES! I bring Otis to the mall in mine, and I put a baby blanket over the canopy so no one can see in. He can still see out through the sides though. We would probably be kicked out of a lot of places if it weren't for the stroller. I noticed a lot of mothers with human babies looking at my stroller trying to place the model or the brand. I just keep on awalkin. |
I kind of felt that way also that I would be that weird dog lady lol. I got my furboy a birthday gift and so did my hubby. He asked what could he get Cookie and I said a Stroller? He ordered it from ebay for $69 plus shipping. You can get themat justpetstrollers.com Let me tell you you WILL NOT regret it! I take them out for long walks in the stroller because Cookie can't walk for more than 2 blocks. He's really small and gets tired just playing in the house lol. You know what? Next time that I go to the Vet I am taking Lola in the stroller because I do not like putting her on the floor at the vet's office either :( Everyone that sees our furbabies in the stroller only had sweet comments and loved the idea lol Genie |
I have a carriage type stroller--I can take all 4 out in. But, I also have a stroller from Petedge.com that I take the 2 little guys out in; we go to the mall; we go to the vet; they don't walk more than 2 long blocks and this way we can go for hours. |

Do they come in any other color than blue? |
i just saw strollers @ our local petsmart for $99. they are the happy trails in blue and pink. you make a good point about protecting them from germs at the vet. and protecting them from people like at a soccer game. next time i go to petsmart i'm tossing one in the cart! |
I was also warned not to let my babies walk around my granny's nursing home! The nurses said that the floors were dirty and to keep the dogs off the floor! They didn't want my dogs to get sick...then they couldn't come and visit any of the residents! I think the stroller would work out great at the nursing home! Now I need to find some baby outfits... |
i think it's awesome that u take your babies to a nursing home. i know people just light up and smile around animals. |
Pet strollers are great for taking your dog to places you couldnt normally go to or that it would be hard to go to and carry a dog around, such as the mall, food place, etc.. People may think you are a weird dog lady but those are the same people that probobly think carriers are bad, dog clothes are bad and spoiling dogs are bad  they simply do not understand the bond we have with our yorkies so you just have to not care about thier opinions or what they think. The whole point is that you can take your baby with you places instead of leaving them home all alone everytime you go out ;) |

stroller she lost another one today, she was so funny, she kept running around looking for her tooth, lol. I did look at the stroller at Pets Mart as they are on sale now, but the one they had was defective so I guess I shall go on line and check it out, you said you got yours on Ebay, I will go look in a bit and see what they have. I was wondering can the net on the front be completely removed, did you get the cover that helps keep out the wind and rain with yours? The pink is pretty but I am a blue denim person :happyboun so I think I shall go for the blue, where all do you use yours? Hubby doesn't think too much of the idea of one, but thats ok I know I shall appreciate having one. I am off to do my search. Patti |
i need to accept that i am the person carrying the dog in the purse dressed up like a preppy little man. i'm getting a stroller. i wish america was more like france where you can bring your dog everywhere without discrimination. in france, they can go to restaurants , public transit, etc. everything here is so over regulated. i will push my little dog in a polo shirt through the mall! look out america i'm getting a stroller and i'm going to use it! lol. :) :we're #1: |
I tried out a red stroller in Petco the other day with Buddy and he *loved* it - he was totally calm and seemed to love riding around the store in it. My boyfriend refused to be seen with me. And I can understand. I will have to be in the camp that is resisting the crazy dog lady image (no matter how practical it is!) and I ordered a carrier from Target :) But I think it's an awesome idea! Esp for those of you with multiple pups. |
Just did a search and read about the AT3 all terrain pet stroller by Happy Trails, does anyone have this one? If someone has purchased this one would you post back or pm me and let me know what you think about it. I notice the newer Happy Trails has now come out with the 8 inch wheels, and also if it doesn't say plus on that unit the weather cover and pad don't come with it, seems like only the pink came in the plus. I was dissapointed the one today at pets mart was defective but then again maybe it was meant to get this other model, anyway I am excited about one as I can see where it will really come in handy. Hope to hear someone has it. Thanks, Patti |
Petedge.com I just tried Petedge.com What a great website!!! They are inexpensive...they have great clearance items too!!! Would definitely recommend!! :) |
Stroller Ok I have been wanting a stroller for the longest time. My fiance who has grown very much attatched to our little Madison keeps telling me that he can deal with all the clothes, and toys, and beds and etc etc...but a stroller??? He just cant see it. But after reading everyones rave over these strollers...I'm breaking down and buying one! And I couldnt be more excited!!!! I would feel safer with her in one. Anyone have any ideas on how to "break the news" to my fiance??? :D God I love my Yorkie! |
