Your experiences are much like mine. At our Walmart, the workers make a fuss. The Managers don't. They Ignore. In Dollar Tree THEY make a BIG FUSS! Salvation Army Thrift Store Workers want to pet her, and hold her if they can. Pet Stores make a fuss over all pets....Katy, and other tiny dogs, A HUGE FUSS! The truth is.....in Today's World, these places do not want 'scenes'. They don't want law suits. So they look away. Several Years ago a friend of ours was so angry. She worked at KMart. They were told not to do anything if they saw someone stealing. Just let them go. <?????????> The Law Suits, yes, the Law Suits, from the Thieves were so costly.....the drama in the stores INTENSE.....not worth it to them. HOW SAD IS THAT! Look at Packaging. <sighs and rolls eyes> I collect dolls. Packaging is so tight and complicated it takes, for an adult with a knife, 3 minutes to open a Barbie. People are worse in Today's World. People think they are owed for free...... so taking a dog in a store...... no big deal to them. |
On that note...... <sighs> Workers have told me that they do not mind well behaved dogs in the stores. No One Does. When I first got Katy, all 2.3 pounds of her, we stopped in a Fleet Farm in Iowa. I will tell you they had a BIG sign on the door, that basically said: Pets were not welcome. Katy could not wait in the car, it was REALLY cold in SD, and we really needed some things. I went in, Katy in my purse, and was headed to the Service Desk to ask if I could just pick up some thing quickly and leave. As I walked through the door, headed to the desk, here came 3 employees.....I thought, WOW! Ok, I get it. I apologized, but you could barely hear me for all the FUSS! I told them, one was Management, what I was doing and why. They laughed and said that they did not care about small well behaved dogs, especially those in carts, the sign is about ALL THE PEOPLE THAT......get this!.....BRING IN LARGE DOGS ON LEASHES, OUT OF CONTROL, AND THE DOGS TEAR OPEN THE DOG FOOD BAGS! I thought, really, how often could this have happened.....guess what I have seen other places TWICE now?????? LARGE OUT OF CONTROL DOGS TEARING OPEN DOG FOOD BAGS IN THE STORES.....AND OWNERS ACTING LIKE.....WELL, IGNORING IT! |

Cuvert's used to GIVE 'Pup Cups"....ice cream, to dogs going through Drive Thru. McD's might still give Dog Biscuits to dogs in Drive Thru too. |

Maryland is really dog friendly. At least the Annapolis area. Also we are close to Alexandria VA, they even have an indoor dog friendly art museum. We always call first and ask but Jackson is very well behaved and on leash. Thus far, he and Lola my other dog have been welcome in: Marshalls TJ Maxx Barnes & Noble Ulta Beauty Sephora Bath & Body Works Anthropologie (clothing store) H&M Many small boutiques, almost any farm/tractor supply store, Home Depot, any type of auto store is usually happy to have dogs. Just make sure your dog is well trained and ready to be in public. It's always the ill behaved dogs that ruin for the good ones... do not allow yapping/barking, pottying in the store, whining, etc. |
I finally got to use Katy's Stroller! We have had/are having a financial hic up at our house, so, longer trips and spending are kinda on hold right now. BUT! We loaded up yesterday and went to a bigger town about 30 minutes from us. We live in a small town. Anywaaaaay, MY PUPPY ROCKS! She went shopping ALL day and was sooooo well behaved. We took her to the Mall and Mall Walked.....SHE LOVED IT! She loves seeing all the people and other dogs (PetSmart). I really like the Stroller. I just put her in it at the door and right on in we went. Employees were smiling at her and talking to her all sweet. She loved it. I loved it. She got to come along. |
Sweet Katy lol. Strollers are the best for malls and at the height they are gives the pups a different view of their world. She's so cute she must have drawn a lot of attention and yorkies just love attention lol. |
Let's see if I can get this photo up.....2nd try Mizzou wants to come with us today..... Ha Ha https://marnasmenagerie.com/?action=...ort=1&id=11933 |
LOL, cute...... |
Gidget loves her stroller. We take it when we visit a local nursing home. The residents love the fact that she's at their level and they can pet her without having to bend over. The ones who are able will let her sit in their laps and she loves the belly rubs she gets from them. There are several residents who are confined to their beds and she will lay beside them and get her rubs. It's nice to have the stroller for walking the halls of the nursing home. That way she doesn't get in anyone's way who is using a walker or a wheel chair. No chance of her tripping someone. |
