It depends, a large alligator usually lasts 2-3 nights but if Lola is in a heavy chewing mood she can finish it in a few hours. I take them away when it gets down to just the nose. She always chews them tail to nose. Don't buy the sticks, they broke off in big pieces. |

Lola is 7lbs, but I started buying them when she was 4-5lbs, I buy the large. It's about as long as a dollar bill. The small ones are tiny, I'd end up throwing over half of it out. Petco sells them individually. I buy mine on amazon, $11 for 7. |

Callie loves the new milkbone dental bones so I let her have them. I guess it's equal to me having a chocolate bar. There not to hard either so I don't have to worry about another broken tooth. Whimzzes are a little harder then I am comfortable with. |
Yesterday, I got a medium alligator and a hedgehog Whimzee at Petco for Bubba and Sissy. Bubba lost interest in his so Sissy grabbed it. She finished both in about two hours. She loves to chew and so far I have found bully sticks best for her. |

I've considered trying the hedgehogs because there may be less waste with them but I'm afraid of the spikes breaking off or Lola having trouble managing it due to the shape. |
Warning! I wanted to share with you my dog, Ringo, and my experience with Milk Bone Dental Chews. This product should be recalled! I fed Ringo a chew on Fri and then another one on Sat before I went out to dinner. When I returned he was throwing up liquid and seemed a bit lethargic. I kept an eye on him over night but by the morning he seemed worse. He was dry heaving, panting and refusing to walk. Obviously in a lot of pain!I took him to the vet where they determined he had a blockage in his stomach that was causing great distress and could be fatal! He was is serous danger of aspirating or if the blockage passing into the intestines creating serous damage and very likely life threatening! He went into surgery and they removed the Milk Bone Dental chews. The 2 bones were broken into 5 pieces that were still as hard as if they had just been taken out of the package! They did not disintegrate at all! Please post this info. where ever you can and make sure everyone you know boycotts this product! Ringo is slowly recovering. Thank you! |
