Donating YT 500 Club Member | Buddy Belt help please Ok, so Alfie is growing out of his nylon harness and it is also matting his hair, as some of you know he has had baldness episodes and allergies so I need to get the right harness for him. I think I have settled on a Buddy Belt and just have a few questions I need your help with before ordering. 1. He has allergies and very sensitive skin, when he manages to scratch he can break the skin really quickly in his armpits. Would the BB rub or aggravate that area? 2. Still with the skin! I like the classic red, is this a nice soft range or are other BB ranges softer leather? If so which ones? 3. Size, he is a little betweeny size, he is slim built, 9 months old and seems to have pretty much settled growth wise details are below, do you think size 3 is best fit? Neck 20cm/8" Chest 29cm/11.5" Weight 2.86kg/6.5LB 4. If they don't already have one I always add a buttonhole for the D ring on his jackets can you always move the BB D ring to the centre of the harness in any buckle setting? There is only one UK retailer here in UK for BB so I may need to order from US, this is an expensive purchase for me and i dont have the opportunity of actually seeing and trying the BB, so want to make sure I get it right. Thanks for any help you can give me.

YT 2000 Club Member | I have 2 Buddy Belts and they are soft and the D ring is adjustable. My girls have some sensitive skin and it does not bother them or rub if adjusted properly. I can't help you on the size, but they are adjustable with quite a few notches. I love the Buddy Belts harness and are very high quality! I hope this helps. There is a YT member that sells them, but I don't know if she ships to the UK.

| I'm sure Kristin will be along shortly to answer the more knowledgable questions, but BB does make liners to help with the under arm areas for those that are sensitive. I think they are in white but those that do get irritated and wear the liners are perfectly fine. I personally would get a 3 if he has a 29cm/11.5" chest. This gives him some room for a bit of growth, in case there is any.

The Fancy and Luxury Editions are the softest, along with Special Color Cocoa. The D ring is moveable to work with the belt and should always sit in the middle between the shoulder blades. I believe the Size 3 is the right choice.

Donating YT 500 Club Member | Thank you Deb, Heather and Kristen. I am having another look at your site Kristen to check out the softer ones. There are so many beautiful colours.

| I highly recommend the leather liners with Alfie's sensitive skin, especially if the red is your top choice. I put them on the more stiff colors for my girls, and it totally fixed the problem with it rubbing the armpits. Once the leather softens up, you'll probably find you don't need them, but they are easily put on and removed (velcro), so you could transfer it to another Buddy Belt should you get the itch for another and need them for another breaking in period. | I just wanted to add something about the leather. I have a BB Classic, a Fancy Edition (Knight & Candy Apple Red) & a Natural (no dyes/no nylon thread). The Natural is by far the softest of the BBs I own. I had no idea it would be so soft! I was expecting something more sturdy feeling, like a belt I suppose...since it's "natural". But the Natural is butter soft. It's still sturdy, it just has a more delicate feel than the other ones I have. It also feels more prone to stretch. I'm a big fan of the Natural. I use it as much as I can so the patina will develop. That being said...the Natural probably isn't a great first (or only Buddy Belt). It isn't as "pretty" as some of the other models. And the Classic & Fancy line do have a sturdier feel to them. Although I like it, it isn't a great representation of the overall Buddy Belt brand. Whatever you decide, I'm sure you'll love it. Definitely a cut above anything else out there.

When you first get it, is it extremely light colored, or more of a tan-ish? It's hard to tell from pics. We had a BB (black) but I just wasn't using it that much anymore so I actually sold it (on here, I think) but of course, I'm getting the 'itch' to have one again, lol, but I'm kind of a freak like that. Love having different harnesses and collars, it's an obsession And I think I'd prefer the softer feel. The black wasn't super stiff, but I prefer softer leathers, which tans tend to be.

| We have 12 beautiful Buddy Belts from Kristin, (Maximo) in a array of gorgious colors. Two are from the classic collection and they are a little stiffer than the others but Yazmin's has not experienced any rubbing her armpits. I do believe this is because she's wearing the proper fit. If you really love the color Red, I would suggest the Candy Apple Red from the Fancy Edition. It's really soft and has a gorgeous texture also. Maximo also carries the Buddy Belt Harness Liners. It says the Liners are for sensitive dogs, and for added comfort when breaking in a new harness. Buddy Belts Harness Liners Good Luck, can't wait to see photos of Alphie wearing his new Buddy Belt! |

First Goal was to have a different BB for each day of the week. Next Goal was to wear a different color everyday for 2 weeks. The long term Goal is to have a color for each day of the month!

Sorry to butt in....!!! Are you looking at www.notforpussys.com as the UK supplier of Buddy Belts? I think Amazon do some too? It's all a bit of a to-do isn't it - I had the same problem when ordering Harry's ChokeFree - ended up having it shipped from America with a lot of help from our friends on YT!!! Soooo worth it, though. Good luck, hope little Alfie ends up with exactly what his mummy wants! Sally + Harry x
