Bad breath? I have 2 yorkies and their breath is terrible! I have had teeth checked by my vet. I know to brush and I use an oral jel the vet advised. They both are on Fromm food which I feel is very good quality feed. The Vet suggested trying something to go in their drinking water. Just wondered if anyone else has breath problems or uses something in the water that works? |

Have their anal glands checked.... |
|
They are checked every 3 mos and cleaned if needed so don't think that is it. Was at the Vet this morning but all else he had to offer was putting something in drinking water. Thanks |

Stuff in the water has not been very helpful for us. One thing I have notice is that sometimes what I smell is not all the breath but the hair/mustache , so we started rinsing wiping it regularly and the breath seemed better. Still have to brush though. |

Bad breathe? Give them celery sticks..... Amazing! |
|
Wow! Never heard of that. Mine love carrots but not sure they would like celery? Worth a try! |

We brush teeth after breakfast and use the gel before bed, after meds. The gel is designed to kill bacteria in their mouth and they can wake up with morning breath too. As long as I do these two things, this way all of my dogs dont have bad breath. |

If their teeth have been checked by a vet and there isn't anything wrong with the teeth/gums, then you might need to look at their diet. Fromm is a good food. But even the best of foods can cause digestive problems that manifest as bad breath. |

Please let me know if the Gold Fromm is any better on the breath. I been thinking maybe it could be the food. Both are doing so well on it though. |

What kind of toothpaste recommendations? I see you are talking about a gel? |

The water type is full of chemicals and can't be good for them. I just send my Yorkie for teeth cleaning every year and take out whatever bad teeth there is and brush his teeth and gums every night with a gel called Breathalyser from the vet. My dog is born with bad teeth genetically so says his vet. We still need to send him for teeth cleaning every year eventhough we brush his teeth every night. |
