Car seats Ok there is a lot of talk about car seats. I was wondering if anyone has both. How do you like them. Is the booster seat safe? Verbena, do you not have a car seat or are you looking for a new one? Me personally I would go with the Snoozer. I think they are a bit more sturdy and mimic standard car seats. Theres something about the other one dangling in the air that just doesn't sit right for me. I also find that the snoozer is a easy in, easy out set up. The dangle one ( :p ) seems to need a specific type of seat. Meaning, usually only in the front where you have bucket like seats. I dont think the front is the best. Just like a kid, they should sit in the back. Also it can be a balancing act the way the first one is anchored to the seat. Just my personal opinion. I have neither. :D |
1 Attachment(s) I've only had the Snoozer. I have the regular lookout one but given the choice I would have gone with the II in a heartbeat! I love the tray feature. Zeus loves his carseat! My folks have the large one for their two dogs and they love theirs too. They can snuggle together and they're perfectly safe. :) |
i have the solvit car seat for oscar and it works great :) |
I have a snoozer well I have a few. Callie got one a couple years ago and then for her last birthday I bought her a softer more deluxe one slightly bigger with a pillow in it that put her a little higher (got it from gw little) and its awesome. Me and my mom take our yorkies together to lots of stuff like the vet, pet expos, pet store and stuff so we got the biggest one for both of them when we take them together. Callie and my moms yorkie are both 16 pounds. Callie loves her snoozer and if you open the car door she jumps in the car and runs and jumps in her car seat it is so funny. The safety attachment hooks to the actual set belt and then to the dogs harness and I feel that's the safest way to go. |
Car seat Definitely a Snoozer seat. I tried the dangly one and did not like it, but it is much less expensive than the Snoozer. I got a larger size than they suggest so the dog can fully lie down as well as sit up. My dog loves it and also jumps in the car and straight into the Snoozer. Hard to get him out. LOL! He does tend to dig around in the sheepskin-like cover, trying to nest. :-)) |

I have a Snoozer & a Pet Gear for ZoE. ZoE prefers the Pet Gear. The sides are harder, so she can stand on them and look out better. Also, ZoE tends to turn around alot in her seat at times, and her hair gets horribly tangled on the swivel part of the snoozer strap....have often wondered if anyone else has this problem, given how many people rave about them. Here's a thread comparing all three. http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/gen...-tagalong.html |

I like the portability of The solvit but I wasn't sure of the safety. I have bucket seats. But I did not think about you can not use them without having bucket seats. My DBF has a jeep. Hmmmmm |
We have 2 snoozer car seats..... They work wonderfully and I feel like the dogs are very safe in them. We also have used a crate when traveling long distances... of course it is anchored in with a seatbelt when we do! |
I think the Solvit Tagalong is good for someone who cannot turn off the airbag for their passenger seat. It is my understanding that if there is no weight on the seat the bag will not deploy. Having the seat up off the car seat would keep the pet from being slammed by an airbag if there was an accident. |

I just got Wallee the snoozer car seat as he gets terribly anxious in the car still. I used to have just a sets belt harness that he wore but he couldn't see and it was a pain changing harnesses every time we went in the car. I got him the medium size as he seemed to lay down a lot in the car (think cause he got sick) so I wanted to give him that option. (Walleye weighs 10 lbs by the way). We have only been out with it once but I love how easy it goes into the car and he appeared not to be quite as nervous. We use it in the back seat. |
