Newest Indoor Dog Toilet. What Do You Think? My boyz go on washable pee pads, but they are larger-sized Yorkies, aka Teapots!!! LOL They pee a lot! I need to replace the pads, but Pooch Pads have gotten way too expensive!! Before I research another brand, and because I'm always doing laundry, I want to invite your comments about buying the new product State of the Art Dog Toilet. It looks perfect to me, but I have no testimonials. Why has no one purchased this item???? Sold on his website, on Ebay, and on Amazon, but I don't see an actual sale. Let me know what you think. Hubby is concerned that the boyz will not accept the grate. Home |
It's an interesting concept... I know my two wouldn't use it. How would dogs know that it's their potty? |
I don't think Riley would use it.... |
interesting but i am not sure morgan would use it// maybe if you had a puppy you could train it to go there |
The video doesn't mention how you do the "once a week" cleaning. I just don't think I'd want to clean a weeks worth of pee at one time. I think I'll stick to my washables. |
The website explains how to train and how to empty the tank in detail, but no, it does not have a video. That makes me wonder. I have to check out YouTube for videos of this product. I would place a used pee pad or a piece of one on the grate and offer a "special" treat for doing peepee. I would have to invest in training time again. I would need 2 units placed together, and would empty it more than once a week. BTW, there are pet toilets that actually hook up to your plumbing and flush!!! I don't have any space for it!!! Please keep sending your comments and thoughts! |

Flushable Dog Toilet Link |
Thanks and wow, the things they come up with! And we all go through the googling dog toileting stage...!!! Hope you find what your looking for! |
Hummm I watched the Pet Potty video and read the information. Unfortunately you have to email them about a price. That makes me wonder . I would be VERY interested if they were upfront and disclosed prices without having to email them. |
With similar products, a lot of dogs don't like walking on the grates. Once a week cleaning --- no way. |
Hmm well waffles would just look at it and go to her potty patch lol |
Mmm I'm getting a new puppy in Feb and I really want to try this. We live in a condo right now and the complex only has rocks and we don't have a patio haha. A lot of other tenants have big dogs too so I would rather Penelope use the potty inside as much as possible. My mom has always used puppy pads but they are so expensive and between three dogs (two Yorkies and a Chihuahua, 3 out of 4 times they rip them to shreds and eat the pieces, especially when there is 1-2 pees on there. This thing says it has a lifetime guarantee.... I'm just so nervous because there are only 4 reviews on it and like OP said, they aren't sold through Amazon but on their website or on ebay. It's also super ugly lol I'll let you guys know if I get it and what my puppy thinks about it. Also, someone on Amazon said to get a pet odor enzyme to put into it before you use it so it doesn't stink when you use it. I really don't want to use puppy pads or litter! :( (oh and I'm talking about the "State of the Art" one not the plumbing one. I don't like that the second one doesn't give you the price up front) :/ |
Here's our potty area. Hubby made this out of sheet metal. Our chihuahua lifts his leg, so we need something with sides. I use the people pads from SAMs they are 22x36" http://i894.photobucket.com/albums/a...75f7d78100.jpg |
@Milkpop I have a yorkie who is about 5 months old now, and since we are in Canada and live in an apartment, I purchased the potty patch at PetSmart a month ago, and I put it on my porch. Since he is a male he actually lifts his leg while standing off of the patch, but he hasn't missed (yet!). He took to it pretty quickly since he was already used to grass, and its a great alternative to going out in snow which can be larger than he is. Let me know if you have any questions, its a great investment! |

Is it hard to clean? Do you use the pads underneath it? And one last question hehe is it stinky? :) That's so cute that he aims for the patch! |

I have two female yorkies and we use the Pet Zoom. I Got mine off of Amazon. I actually purchased two at a time so I can clean one and they can use the other. I used to clean is every two days but now end up cleaning it twice a week or so. It will get stinky but I use a shower sprayer to spray it down in the tub and a Oxy-spray. They are smaller girls but the use it for both #1 and #2. I couldn't imagine taking them outside to go potty in our wisconsin winters. (we live in an apt and it makes it MUCH easier) I actually bought another to keep at grammie's house for when they visit! |
@Milkpop Sorry it took me so long to get back to you! I don't find that there is a smell, I let the pee collect in the basin underneath, and I drain it every 2 days, and do a thorough cleaning every week or so with a natural spray cleaner and a paper towel! I love it - it has made it so much easier not to go out in the snow. |
I love this idea, BUT my question is how do you get them to use it? OK, now Sprocket has always gone outside, you know the schedule thingy, but in the bad weather it's hard, I did not "train" him he came to me more or less trained and we came to a "happy"? medium or ending? what ever. So I know nothing about the potty training thingy, but would like to be able to use the potty patch or such thing in my master bath shower in the night or bad weather, how do I do this? Any kind of ideas would be helpful cause I don't even know how to start. Thanks |

Wow, this would be perfect for my little boy! Wish I had someone who could make this for me! |
I bought the big squirt for Riley. I didn't buy the grass and took the grate out. I just use pee pads. I also Bought a diaper genie for the used pads so there is no smell. RASCAL DOG LITTER BOX COMPANY, L L C HOME PAGE |

I used to use the purina one doggie litter box But Riley didn't like to have to jump Into it.... I bought the big squirt which has sides and he walks onto in now instead... He Still sometimes has one foot off and one foot on it... Silly boy! |
Dog Toilet look at puppyappartments.com this seems like a much better idea. If I had a new puppy I would for sure try it. I want to try it with my older Yorkie but since that don't offer any kind of gurarentee & it is pricey, I'm not sure. I'd love some feed back on this one also.:aimeeyork |
We're getting ready to move into a condo, so I've been looking into getting a litter box. Any one try any of these? If so, what are your results please???? I'm leaning towards the Rascal dog litter box, but not sure. |
I posted a photo of Riley's potty area on this thread. In in the back corner 5th floor of a building in the city. http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/gen...holders-2.html |
