hhmm....I don't know about others, but as much as I love my KB's I wouldn't recommend them for this type of carrying. They are meant to be concealment bags. If she's sitting up, her head would have to be between the zipper teeth & the zipper partially open. 1 - I don't think that's really comfortable for the pup. 2- KB's zippers are known to break fairly easily...probably the first thing to go on the bag...and that would put more stress on the zipper unless you had the top all the way unzipped, which I think would be a safety hazard, even with the pup attached to the inside strap.

There are other bags that are made for carrying your pup with the head out. Have you looked at those styles?

I have seen some that have more head room but they don't have the ability to close the vents if you want to go in a store or something. I was thinking that I could just carry a scarf and throw it over the window opening when I went inside. I don't like the idea of completely shutting off the vents anyway.
It's not just that Gracie does not like the carrier.......I think of how I would feel if I was stuck in a box unable to stretch my legs or turn around or lift my head. I guess I am a bit claustrophobic anyway. I want to be able to take her with me more often but not if it's going to be difficult for her. I keep watching for the perfect carrier. I may end up with several in order to cover many situations!

I haven't had mine very long but I have seen some lightly used ones that did not look to be in very good shape. I think it is a fairly large amount of money to pay for a pet carrier so I think it should stand up to the wear for more than a year of moderate use.

I just feel bad for Gracie. I think of how I would feel if I was stuck in a little box and unable to turn around or straighten out my legs or lift my head. I am a bit claustrophobic anyway. I will probably end up with several different carriers before I figure out what is best. The ones I have seen that have more head room do not have the pull down covers for the vents for when you want to go inside somewhere. I was thinking that I could just carry a scarf to throw over the top when I go inside. I think that might be better than shutting off the air flow all together anyway.
