Mink sheen shampoo Does anyone use Minksheen shampoo??? |
Yes, and I love it. Do a search on this forum and you will see many opinions about it. Some people don't like the slight scent of citronella or cedar it has (which mildly repels fleas). I don't smell that cause I use PetSilk rainforest conditioner after it. I do love the silky feel of both my silky coated and cotton coat doggies using Minksheen. I also love that it doesn't dry their skin. |
It's our favorite! I finally put it in a foaming pump bottle, works great. |

What do you mean?? |
Mink sheen says that it is concentrated and can be diluted for "professional" use.I didn't need much to wash Ziva and the bottle I got was watery so it was hard to just use a little, so- I saved a foaming hand soap bottle and used that, diluting the shampoo 4:1 with water and now have an easy to use foaming shampoo! |
If you are sensitive to smells, you won't like it. It does its job wonderfully, but I couldn't get past the smell. I would put off bathing Uni bc I preferred her stink to the fragrance. I like fruity scents, this was too musky for me. Reminds me of old guys who douse on too much cologne. |

Have you found a shampoo that works like Minksheen but smells better? |
I love MinkSheen. Wasn't too crazy about the smell at first but it's growing on me. :) |

I love minksheen. The smell doesn't bother me I kind of like it. It leaves Pistols coat so soft and managable after a bath. |
I've been using it last couple of shampoos and love it. Smell doesn't bother me. Kody's coat is super soft. |
I love Minksheen and I actually like the smell. :) I don't like the more fruity light smells that don't last on him longer than like 10 minutes out of the bath... Minksheen lasts and I love that!! He can go for 3-4 days and I still smell it on him. Some shampoos I've tried smell amazing out of the bottle and when you are scrubbing it on the dog but then afterwards I can't even smell it. Like I have Tropiclean right now and sure it makes him pretty shiny and soft... but by the next morning, I smell nothing. I've been using BioGroom Silk Creme after shampooing because it makes him really soft! But yes the Minksheen makes him really soft and shiny! Not sure if the flea repellent works... esp. with me using a different conditioner afterwards but oh well :) |
I love the smell of minksheen and I love it that the smell lasts and doesnt fade after one day |

Where do you buy the Minksheen and petsilk? I'm in good ole Canada where things are harder to find sometimes unless you buy online. |
I absolutely LOVE Minksheen. And I really love the scent. Here is the website: Pet Care |
Minksheen I just bought it on Amazon.com Cheaper than from the company itself. Can't wait til it arrives. |
I love mink sheen and the smell too!!!! |

I've heard nothing but rave reviews on it...but...am I the only one freaked out that it is made from the fat of Minks? I heard some Mink shampoos use a nonlethal method of fat extraction (using needles to harvest fat off Minks) but most involve the "harvesting of Minks at maturity" anyone know the extraction means of Minksheen specifically I couldn't find anything on it and haven't received a response when I emailed them to ask... |

Just got some from AMD--the smell will take some getting used to!!!! but it is not horrible by any means. It smells better coming out of the bottle than on my boys but OH WELL. My question--if I use a conditioner after it, will the effects of Minksheen lessen?? Meaning if it is going to deter fleas, or make their coats FAB-will a separate conditioner strip the Minksheen??? :) Viv |
I ordered some on Monday & am still waiting on it arriving. I'm holding off ZoE's bath til it gets here. It's day 8 since the last bath & she's getting stinky...:p |
