I just got back home and tried it on him again. He has to be like on the last (tightest) hole on the belt for a perfect fit.... I'm wondering if a size 5 would be better for him?

I had that same problem. I started out with a size 4, and she needed it on the last hole, so I got a 3.5 and she wears it on the second to last hole but when I got the 3 to try on her it would fit on the 4th hole but the legs holes were SO tiny :( So we stuck with a 3.5.

It would be so mush easier to try them on if like PetSmart or something carried them :p Rather than buy them online and return them when they don't fit

We had the problem with the lump too. It worked out some over time but it was much better when we got a size that fit on the third hole. The lump was really bad when it was on the first or second hole. The ones we have now would fit snug with the second hole for both of them but we use the third and keep it a little on the loose side to avoid the lump problem.

Jackson is so handsome in his BB! I love it on him. :wub: So happy you like it!

Glad you found the Kiwi stuff. I didn't know they made a rub type - that'll probably work better over time than the spray kind. I'll have to remember to look for that next time I need some.

Brit, I'd call the lady at Wetnose Boutique. Others have talked about how helpful she's been with picking the right sizing so I'm sure she could help you and Jackson. The BB I got for Murphy is doing that same thing but it's not as noticable and it's already settled in some.

Congrats on Jackson's very first Buddy Belt!! :D

Brit---Jackson looks awesome!!! I know it's a pain but you might wanna try the 5:(!! Reesie is a good fit for the 3, fits on the 3rd hole with clothing on, but he is not done growing so I know he will grow into it well. When I try to 3 on Snick, it only fits on the 4th hole and bunches, but with the 2, he fits into the 2nd to last hole and seems right. It is expensive so I know what we all mean when we want the exact fit!!!

Vivian mentioned that Three Dog Bakery carries BB, although Three Dog is franchised, so they may not all have the same inventory. If you have one in your area, I would try calling. Wish you could try one on Jackson.

Or try calling Wetnose. Is that where you ordered from? I wonder if you could order a 5 to try and then return whichever belt you don't need.

Thanks guys! I just ordered the 5. I emailed WetNose Boutique and told her that I just placed another order for the 5, and once it gets here, I am going to see which is better... the 5 or the 6 and then return the one that does not fit best. I have a feeling he may be a 5! Sooo we'll see!!

Hehe, you posted right when I did. That's exactly what I'm doing!

I've never seen a Three Dog Bakery around here- I'll have to look and see if we have one.

Brit, I'll be interested to hear how the 5 fits!

My Rory has a 16" chest, so she is on the border of two sizes too. Logically, I'd think I should order the bigger one to fit over clothes, since my girls are dressed more often than not, but it sounds like that is what you did and are having issues.

Jackson looks great in his new Buddy Belt! :D

I ordered a buddy belt for Harley last night. We are getting the Peacock color. Can't wait to try it! Hope I ordered the right size.

Rory would probably be a 5, just my guessing. Because Jackson has an almost 18" chest and the 6 only fit him on the last 2 tightest holes. The size 5 should be here tomorrow (I hope!)... I'm flying out of town Fri. morning so if it comes Friday, I won't be able to test it out until Monday. I'm itching to use the BB on our walks but I don't wanna use the one I have now in case I have to return it (and keep the 5)! LOL. Darn it!

I think I am really going to love it. I walk Jada and Bogie with a coupler and even though Jada is 3lbs lighter than Bogie, she pulls him as he is a stinker and doesn't like to walk. All of the other step in harnesses I have tried just come a little to close to the neck for my liking. There is no way with the Buddy Belt that any harm can come to their sensitive trachea. I am off after Friday for 5 days and it is supposed to be really nice weather here. I hope to do a lot of walking with them and try them out.
ps...thanks for the sweet comments about Jada. I would have taken a pic of Bogie in his, but he thought we were going somewhere when I put his on him and he just melted onto the floor and wouldn't move ( little stinker hates to go outside):D
