What is the best brush to use? I am going to keep my Yorkie short-haired and I was wondering what the best brush to use was? I read that a wire pin brush without ball tips is best, but I am having trouble finding one. Any suggestions? |
I love the Chris Christensen pin brushes. They are a bit pricey but well worth the money. The pins to not scratch their skin. |

I will have to save this information for my own future use ! |
I love my Madden brush and someone on here sells them and that is who I got mine from. I love it! I have thought about getting one for my own hair! LOL |
I haven't tried the CC brushes but I LOVE my Madan brush. I bought mine off of a fellow YTer... |
I haven't started using my brush yet ( I bring my Yorkie home next week) but I went ahead and bought a Madan brush. I searched the forum here and found some old posts about brushes and alot of people like the Madan brushes. I bought mine from a user on here, mimimomo, she was very professional and nice and my brush arrived quickly! |
Giving another  to minimomo who sells the Madan Brush. Igot the blue one, the softest and it works very well, does not hurt their delicate skin and really helps taking out a mat. Her service was excellent too! |
We LOVE our green Madan brush from Mimimomo also! I want to get more- so I can keep them in different parts of the house- my 2 love being brushed. :p |
Well....I'll just come out and admit that I'm a cheapskate!! If I can get something inexpensive, that's what I try to do. So, for Chloe's brush I use a flea comb made for cats from Wal-Mart. My vet showed me the comb that she used and said she got it from Wal-Mart, but I couldn't find one small enough. So I glanced through the cat aisle and found this: Walmart.com: Jointed Culture Resources: Mini Flea Comb Ergonomic Grooming Tool, 1 ct: Dogs. It has done amazing things for Chloe's fur. It doesn't seem to hurt her as she comes right to me when she sees it and the mats just seem to fall out. Also, since it is small, it is easier to get in those hard to reach places! I think it cost me like $1.94 or something. -C |
I love my Chris Christensen fusion pin brush here is the link: Dog Grooming Tips I lost one and when I placed an order for a replacement I ordered two so I wouldn't be without if I ever lost another one. |
I first used a cheap pin brush that I got at Walmart and then decided to try the Madan pin brush that I got from here and WOW!! what a difference!!! Totally worth the extra cash. I LOVE IT! For her little face though I use a cheap cat flea comb... |
