Bully stick... Stink!! So I heard so many of you talking about bully stick and how great they are for yorkie tooth. I just got a bag of barnsdale farms stick for the first time. When I got in my car I realize how BAD they smell!! Oh my god what the hell!! Now I am home, and I can tell you that my 5 dogs are really happy and busy chewing on the sticks. But I am so disgusted by the smell! I don't see how anyone can deal with that smell!! YURKKKKK So do all bully stick smell so bad or did I got the wrong one? |
 I buy my bullysticks from AMD ...she's a YT'er here. Her bullysticks have no smell! Pasquale loves them...and i love the fact that they dont stink!! She's having a sale now...and i plan on buying more!! |
I just ordered 20 from AMD. They do not stink and Pepper absolutely loves them. |
The ones I've gotten from Petsmart and PETCO don't smell at all! |
The ones I've always gotten smell horrible too. We must be getting a funky kind??? |

Not all bully sticks were created equal. Some of the more expensive ones -- Red Barn to name one specific brand are STINKY PU. I mean we all know where bully's come from, but they smell like they came from a bit further south, if you know what I mean. Everything I have heard about the Bully Sticks that AMD sells is very positive. I generally buy in bulk - when I give out bully sticks I have to put at least a dozen down - Chattie steals them and lays on them like a dragon's hoard. |

I'm another AMD fan, too!! They're less expensive, they don't smell and she ships fast! I buy the 6" ones for my lil' one. |

I used to buy the Merrick bully stix and they used to not smell. But about a year ago that changed and I noticed the Merrick bullies started smelling like a dead rotting animal. I dont know what they did to change their stix but yuck..I refuse to buy them anymore. Plus they are like $4.00 a stick! I'm not paying $4.00 for a nasty smelling one. Last summer I discovered that costco has bully stix..they are longlasting and don't smell bad at all and they are only $19.99 for 12 stix! |
Why is it these dogs like to eat and roll in stinky things.??:confused: |
I like the ones I get from Westbrook...just now found out that this is AMD, too! Our Yorkie loves to chew on them and I don't notice an odor. There are even certain kibbles that I will never buy after smelling their samples so that should tell you how unoffensive I find these bully sticks! Luckily they just happened to be what I bought since I had no idea at the time what they were or that they generally smelled. |

I was gonna ask the same thing!! :) |
I get mine from eddieb260 on Ebay - they don't stink. They also have steer sticks (thinner, cheaper) for less agressive chewers. [just fyi, I recently tried another ebay vendor, MuttMart, bc prices were a bit better and OMG - STINK; they seriously smell like dog poo] |
Sold Out I went on Westbrook last night and everything was sold out I was so dissappointed. I really wanted to try their Bullysticks since the smell of the Bullysticks I previously purchased was really bad. I didn't even want my furbabies chewing on them in the same house let alone room. |

Moo! brand bully sticks (Bullysticksonline Home Page) don't smell unless you put it right up to your nose. But they are kinda hard to find, made in Brazil but outsourced from MI. 2 bucks for a 6 inch and WOW Snickers LOVES them!!!! It took me soooooo long to get over what they were and try them...;) |
Hi Hollee, Bully sticks are dried bull or steer penis so it's natural and good for teeth cleaning. However I found that Merrick's Texas Toothpicks smell much better and they are smoked cow tail. |
Thanks! I may just have to try some when I get my little one |
I ordered some bully sticks from YT user AMD. Anyway, they came in the mail today. What I am wondering is how much do you guys let your little furbabies chew on them. Macy has been chewing on one almost non stop since I got them out of the mailbox. That was about 4 hours ago. Is that okay or should I take it away from her now? |
