stroller buying I've been getting sad when I leave Lucas at home on the weekends after being gone all week and today was no different. I went out of town for a shopping trip, and I saw a lady take her poodle into a Big Lots store ! and then I saw a man with a yorkie sitting outside another store and then I saw 2 women with their dogs in strollers! That was the straw that broke the camels' back!! So I just came home and ordered a stroller for Lucas online (no pet store in our town, nearest town's pet store doesn't carry strollers)! I ordered one with 3 wheels (also called a jogger) because I liked the way the actual carrier part opened up the best out of all of the strollers I looked at. Has anyone used a stroller like this (3 wheels instead of 4) and has any comments or suggestions to make? Thanks! |
I don't know about the dog jogger strollers but if they are anything like the child ones..they are convenient for grassy areas but they don't have the same turning capabilities...can be kind of bulky for store uses...but I am not sure if the pet one would be as big...hopefully you will be able to let us know once you get yours in! |
We have a 3 wheeler and LOVE it. Ours is an all-terrain stroller by Petgear..... and it gets used so much that it is showing WEAR on it!!! :D We take it everywhere with us. |
I bought a stroller in anticipation of my new Yorkie pup not being able to walk the 3 miles I do every day. The first ride was awful. He cried the entire time. The other attempts have been worse. So, I wasted $300.00. I wish I had tried one out before I bought! Better luck to you! |
We have a 4-wheeler but I wish I had the 3! Make it a fabulous experience for them and they will come to love it. The first few days I had mine, I let all three girls take turns in it. each time they sat it in while I pushed it, I gave them a treat. Now I have to keep it locked away or they all want to get in! |
Mine has a cover/canopy - so it's completely covered. It's hard to unzip and give a treat each time. I think maybe one without a cover would have worked better |
Mine is not bulky at all and turns on a dime! Bennett just hates it! It was a great idea that just didn't work for me. |
2 Attachment(s) I love the 3-wheeler I got for my boys. I call it my off road stroller. lol. It can literally go everywhere and closing it up is a sinch :) The fisr pic is them going for a walk. And the second is them at a resturant here in Tampa. |
Lovely pictures! |

Usually, the 3wheelers are a little better, but some "jogging" strollers and actually for joggers. They have a strap to attach to your waist so you can jog beside the stroller and "pull" it, and to prevent the stroller from turning in front of you, the front wheel does not turn. Just a quick FYI |
wow! thanks I looked at the one I ordered again and the front wheel does turn (thanks for that heads up!). After reading your comments I'm even more excited than when I ordered it!! Have to admit, some ppl think I'm nuts. I told my best friend I got my dog a stroller and she rolled her eyes at me...she hasn't seen my baby yet tho. LOL ;) |
I have 2 4-wheel strollers. One, is from a petedge.com and is a simple bucket that I use especially when I have a litter. Then I have a bigger stroller, it is difficult to set up, but I can put Itzi or Cruiser in at a dog show and they can lay down without messing up their topknots. I work hard with my puppies from the time they are born so that they don't mind going into a dog bag, a stroller, a carrier...but it is a good idea to borrow one/a stroller --not the puppy, to try your dog in them before investing. I love the stroller, I have not tried a 3 wheeler, maybe next one. |

I have wanted to invest in one but my husband hated them for our kids not to mention for the dogs. He thinks I am nuts anyway about my dogs. How does the stroller work for you with litters? I thought about that. I visited a breeder in Michigan and she had metal baskets with gates on the top it was on a set of wheels like the look of a short shopping cart. Apparently these were made by a local man in her neck of the woods. He doesn't make them any more. I just loved them. She had about 4 or 6 of them up stairs in her home. I have looked on petedged website, which one do you use for litters? |
I just got Lily a new stroller on Ebay. I have walked her around with grandkids for "Trick or Treat"!! She was really good in it and didn't cry or bark or anything!! I haven't actually taken her in a public place yet in it but I was wondering if you are allowed to walk around in malls w/them or where? I am in AZ. and you do see more people here places with their dogs but I know you can't take them if they sell food?? I got the "Zebra print one with 4 wheels"!! DARLING!!LOL My husband is convinced that I am completely CRAZY now for sure!!lol |

got the buggy!! I just got the stroller I ordered today! I was so excited I had to put it together and pop Lucas in it. The first time I put him in it he jumped right out  but the next time I zipped the mesh part closed and pushed him around the house. I guess he liked it better shut in cuz he just sat down and looked around. No chance to take him outside tho it's already dark. :( I plan on trying it out this weekend!! And I got a cheap one (apparently)--it was a little over $100 including taxes and s/h. Good thing--don't know what DH would've done if I spent a bunch of $$ and dog hated it.... :p |
Where did you get yours? I don't want to spend alot either for the same reasons! LOL Quote:

I ordered it online from Sam's Club--the stroller itself was $87 plus change, it was the s/h that put the cost over the hundred dollar bill mark! Oh, and my cats let me push them around the house in it! |
I found a real nice one on Ebay for $48.99 free shipping!! |

I have always pretty much ordered my stroller from ebay.. the seller petstroller is very good.. ya know ya get one.. then a new one comes out..well that is me.. so now I think I have a good safe one.. with 4 yorkies, I needed not only big but safe.. so I did not have to put leads on them and tie them in.. way too dangerous... anne |
When I first got my stroller, Mayzie didn't like it too much either. So whenever I put her in it back then, I would give her cheerios. She loves it now. |
Thanks for the tip. |
just strollin' along! Ok, the 3 wheeler turned out great. I've only used it a couple of times, but Lucas seems to be ok with it. He's learning that he can't jump out when he's chained in! and he doesn't seem to mind being zipped in. :D The 3 wheels goes over everything--concrete, grass, dirt, and is easy to go up and over curbs! :D Hoping to get him used to it soon so I can take him to our huge flea market. :) |

Thank you. :) Sheila |
I love the 3 wheeled strollers. You can't imagine all the places you can take your baby when their in the stroller. Everybody thinks it's just a baby. |
1 Attachment(s) We have the happy trails one & love it. It get's used everyday in the summer. I want to get a bigger one. |

And, I like the Pet Zip 3 wheeler, because it has the bar, she can put her tiny paws on instead of the netting that scrunches down on the Happy Trails.) The manufacturer claims that the front is less angled, than the original that comes in pink, blue, and yellow. But, I thought it would be nice to hear it from someone that actually owns it. I like CollegeCutieUSF's review that stated it is a great off road stroller, as well, because we take our girls along in our travel trailer, and sometimes, the paths are just too messy for them to walk.
