stroller buying I've been getting sad when I leave Lucas at home on the weekends after being gone all week and today was no different. I went out of town for a shopping trip, and I saw a lady take her poodle into a Big Lots store ! and then I saw a man with a yorkie sitting outside another store and then I saw 2 women with their dogs in strollers! That was the straw that broke the camels' back!! So I just came home and ordered a stroller for Lucas online (no pet store in our town, nearest town's pet store doesn't carry strollers)! I ordered one with 3 wheels (also called a jogger) because I liked the way the actual carrier part opened up the best out of all of the strollers I looked at. Has anyone used a stroller like this (3 wheels instead of 4) and has any comments or suggestions to make? Thanks! |
I don't know about the dog jogger strollers but if they are anything like the child ones..they are convenient for grassy areas but they don't have the same turning capabilities...can be kind of bulky for store uses...but I am not sure if the pet one would be as big...hopefully you will be able to let us know once you get yours in! |
We have a 3 wheeler and LOVE it. Ours is an all-terrain stroller by Petgear..... and it gets used so much that it is showing WEAR on it!!! :D We take it everywhere with us. |
I bought a stroller in anticipation of my new Yorkie pup not being able to walk the 3 miles I do every day. The first ride was awful. He cried the entire time. The other attempts have been worse. So, I wasted $300.00. I wish I had tried one out before I bought! Better luck to you! |
We have a 4-wheeler but I wish I had the 3! Make it a fabulous experience for them and they will come to love it. The first few days I had mine, I let all three girls take turns in it. each time they sat it in while I pushed it, I gave them a treat. Now I have to keep it locked away or they all want to get in! |
Mine has a cover/canopy - so it's completely covered. It's hard to unzip and give a treat each time. I think maybe one without a cover would have worked better |
Mine is not bulky at all and turns on a dime! Bennett just hates it! It was a great idea that just didn't work for me. |
2 Attachment(s) I love the 3-wheeler I got for my boys. I call it my off road stroller. lol. It can literally go everywhere and closing it up is a sinch :) The fisr pic is them going for a walk. And the second is them at a resturant here in Tampa. |
Lovely pictures! |

Usually, the 3wheelers are a little better, but some "jogging" strollers and actually for joggers. They have a strap to attach to your waist so you can jog beside the stroller and "pull" it, and to prevent the stroller from turning in front of you, the front wheel does not turn. Just a quick FYI |
wow! thanks I looked at the one I ordered again and the front wheel does turn (thanks for that heads up!). After reading your comments I'm even more excited than when I ordered it!! Have to admit, some ppl think I'm nuts. I told my best friend I got my dog a stroller and she rolled her eyes at me...she hasn't seen my baby yet tho. LOL ;) |
I have 2 4-wheel strollers. One, is from a petedge.com and is a simple bucket that I use especially when I have a litter. Then I have a bigger stroller, it is difficult to set up, but I can put Itzi or Cruiser in at a dog show and they can lay down without messing up their topknots. I work hard with my puppies from the time they are born so that they don't mind going into a dog bag, a stroller, a carrier...but it is a good idea to borrow one/a stroller --not the puppy, to try your dog in them before investing. I love the stroller, I have not tried a 3 wheeler, maybe next one. |

I have wanted to invest in one but my husband hated them for our kids not to mention for the dogs. He thinks I am nuts anyway about my dogs. How does the stroller work for you with litters? I thought about that. I visited a breeder in Michigan and she had metal baskets with gates on the top it was on a set of wheels like the look of a short shopping cart. Apparently these were made by a local man in her neck of the woods. He doesn't make them any more. I just loved them. She had about 4 or 6 of them up stairs in her home. I have looked on petedged website, which one do you use for litters? |
