Puppia Soft Harnesses... Does anyone have one? They look great...nice and breathable. Chewie's neck measurement is 7 1/2 inches and his body is 12 1/2... that falls right in the middle of their size "extra small". If you have one and you're doggie is on the smaller end...how did they work for you...well, i mean the dog? LOL |
I just ordered a couple, haven't used them yet because I'm still waiting on him being ready to leave his family. But anyways a bunch of people on this site recommended it. hth |
i use puppia on my girls..Tumi is 3.4lb and Gracie is 3.7. they both use XS |
i use one on Bailey, its so good i love it! looks nice and is great for the dog. Bailey has his in a very light blue and looks really stylish in it :D i found i got the one that was a little tiny bit to big for his neck, but it goes over his jumpers so its perfect :D |
Wrigley's neck is 8" and she's almost 13" in the chest. The xs we couldn't get on her and the next size up was too big around her neck. We were so disappointed because we really liked the styles. |
I purchased two for Buddy about a month ago and love them. I will tell you they run large. I should have gotten a small but according to their chat he was a medium. They are great. No pressure on the throat area. |
Love them!! We have two Puppia harnesses both in a size Small and they work great for Kiki. We bought them last year when she was around 5 pounds and now that she is 6.5 lbs. they still fit great. The buckle around the chest is adjustable so it allows for room to grow or over clothing. The neck definitely fits looser but I think this is the proper fit for a Puppia. I got Mocha the regular Puppia harness and returned it for the vest style with the velcro closure at the back. He's 3lbs and I got the XS. With the regular one, it was really hard getting it off him. He has a relatively small neck compared to his head, so it was hard getting it to go over his head when I had to take it off. I had to hold it still while he pulled back to get the harness off and I was worried he might hurt his neck that way. Also, when he had it on, he was usually able to get one of his front legs out of it and into the neck hole. The neck hole was more than roomy in the neck area, but it wouldn't go over his head nicely  I like the Puppia vest harness much better. No stress on his neck when taking it off, and he's not able to get any arms out. I think the regular style harness is good if they have a wider neck, but if they have tiny, fragile necks, I wouldn't recommend it. |
Our dog is 12 weeks old and 2 lb 9oz and the XS fits very snugly. As a result, we went ahead and ordered a size S for him to grow into. |
These people here, make harness JUST like puppias But there custom to Your dogs size you should try here. Happy Paws |

Chattiesmom makes a nice step in also - they're very easy to put on too but my 2 don't 'step' into anything - it's more like wrestling :) so we alternate between the 2 styles. |
i have several. they are very cute. :) |
I was about to order him an XS...glad I waited! Chewie is about 5.5 to 6lbs. (it's all in his butt, LOL, j/k :p ) |

I have a few, They fit really well. My baby is 6 lbs. I have never used anything else. The groomer in town carries a whole line of Puppia products. :) |
I have one for my boston terrier and love it, I get lots of complliments on it to |
My Yorkies have been using them for two years now. They are comfortable and I like the way they fit. What I wanted them for was safety. I use them when I hook them into their car seats and they wear them when we walk or hike. I feel that the would hold in a crash or something and on hikes if they get into trouble I can yank them back or reel them in without injury. Sampson almost got blown off a bridge across a whitewater river once when a sudden gust came up. So I want something strong and supportive. |
I looove puppias, it's what we use daily! I was always told they run small, but i haven't compared it to any other similar styles to comment on that really. I got my 7.5 lb girl a S, my 11 lb boy, a M and my 15 lb lhasa a M also. McKenzie's neck is too thin but she would be an XS at 4.5 lbs. They also have step in styles for those w/a small neck. I've ordered one for Kenzie but it isn't in yet :) |

I have a puppia one for Cooper in Camo. I really love it. Cooper is 9 pounds His neck is 8 inches his chest is 16. I don't really know what size I have for him I think it was a medium but I had to just sew around the neck and make it just a little smaller for his neck so it doesn't gap because he was getting his paws out of the holes. Now he doesn't. It is wonderful. I was having trouble with him chewing on his other harness with it on him and he would get it stuck on his mouth. I am afraid that he would break his jaw. These are great, |
Scooter has one. We started super small and as he has grown up, we have changed sizes. I cut the tags off so I have no idea what size the one he currently uses is, though I think it is a small. When one was too small but the next size up was too big, I used a safety pin on the back to secure it. No need for that anymore but it worked great when I needed it to. I love them....and so does Scooter. |
regular harness vs. vest? How would you compare the fit between the regular harness and the vest harness? I Was considering ordering the vest for Paisley. Thanks! |
We just bought Jack a mesh harness. It's not puppias. It's by four paws..... bought it at our local pet store..... go figure Pet Co doesn't sell them. Thank god we had this store too. I really like it. We had just a generic walmart brand harness. Don't get me wrong it was safer for my 3 pound boy than just a collar but it still seemed to be too much. I mean it was just straps and if he ran and pulled, I think it still would have hurt. Well we bought the mesh harness today and he ran and pulled (must have been excited and had a burst of energy) and he didn't seem to be uncomfortable. Or coughing like he would have with the collar. Would really recommed a mesh harness (no matter the brand)!!!! |
