| It's alot of trial an error, until you find what works best for you. Everyone has a different sewing style.

| First of all go to Walmart and get a pattern then follow the directions. That is where I would start.. you might even search online ... You might find alot of information by just browsing GOOD LUCK! I wish I had the time and the TALENT!

| Well my first reccommendation would be to go to the clearance fabric section and pick up a few yards. When I first started, I bought expensive fabric and trim that I inevitably ruined, lol -- so definitely go w/cheap or even plain fabric to start. I'd also start with a basic cotton fabric, no stretch (to learn on). You could try a pattern, but if you're very new to sewing they may be confusing so try to find ones for beginners or even buy a book that can help you w/the sewing terms on the pattern. Most of all, have fun and practice w/your machine before you attempt to construct a garment so that you have all the basics mastered Good luck and happy sewing!! |

Donating YT 500 Club Member | Here is a link for a free dog dress pattern. Or you can find patterns in fabric stores, JoAnn's, Hancocks, Hobby Lobby, etc. Readers Digest has a basic sewing book you can find on Amazon that is about the best I've ever seen. http://www.sewing.circleofcrafters.c...sspattern.html

| I have a free link to a pattern too. http://www.bichonfrise.org/pants.html I would say just start and give it a shot. Just like anything, practice makes perfect. |

| My personal sewing style is to find the fabric or pattern I like and then send it to someone else to sew!

| I just got a sewing machine too!! I have been trying to make my own patterns just by using some of the clothes that I already have for Jacoby. I am going to try to find a class in my area, so I can learn the basics of my machine.
