| Toy Question I'm feeling a little out of the loop about items from China not being safe. I remember awhile back there was a scare with a latex type toy but are the plush type toys unsafe also?? I place an order practically every month from either dog.com or petedge. I pretty much only order toys and most seem to be from China. Paisley kills toys like there is no tomorrow. She literally destroys atleast one stuffed toy each day. These two places are cheap enough that I can afford her killing habit. So are these plush type toys unsafe? If you guys tell me yes, please cover your ears because you might hear me scream from Maryland. Does anyone know where I can buy TONS of toys at a good price? Like I said, Miss Paisley kills things pretty fast, so we buy all the time. Thanks for the help.

| Hey Dina....I think the main scare was the toys that are painted (because the paint contained high amounts of lead). So, rubber/vinyl/latex toys from China are probably not very safe...and best to stay away from. I know most dogs (well, mine anyway) will NOT touch a latex/rubber toy..I don't know if it is the smell/taste of the rubber or what. I think most of us here had all agreed that the plush toys were fine....and of course, it is always best to wash them first before play...I remember that discussion prior to the GE this go around. I know, personally, we are fine w/ plush toys from China....shoot, you can not stay away from things made in China and if you tried, it would be hard to find many places that made toys from somewhere else. I do know that there is some place in Montana (I think) that makes dog toys made in the USA, but I can't remember that link..... Petedge and dog.com does have the best prices around for toys...and we too get lots of plush toys from them!

| Too funny that you just posted this because I was in the process of trying to find a particular toy online. I am concerned about the same thing as you. I guess my Livi is in the minority because she loves rubber toys (she also likes her plush toys as well, though.). These are the toys that I am in search of...I am waiting on a response from the company on where they are made. So sad that we have to worry about this, huh? We shouldn't have to! http://www.petstages.com/toyprod.asp?case=605 http://www.petstages.com/toyprod.asp?case=604 Tammy |

Jenn, thanks so much for explaining all of that to me. Paisley was my first to like anything latex. She has one of those chickens that she loves. Paisley is the type that would chew on anything. I've never seen a baby chew things up so fast. Trixie chews on her bones and likes to play fetch with her bobo's and is not tough on anything. Snoot is pretty much like her and well Pia, LOL, she just licks everything. Thank goodness dog.com and petedge are ok. I have no idea what I would have done if they were bad. Paisley is just a little monster and she can't help herself. Thanks for the help!!!

Your absolutely right and we should NOT have to worry about things like this. It's just very very sad that when I go to place and an order or walk in a store I become a nervous wreck that I may pick something that is dangerous for them. Oh and Livi is not alone with liking latex and rubber toys. Paisley loves everything. Those toys you posted are so cute. If you find out that they're safe, please let me know. Paisley would love them.
