Yep! I agonized over my decision to stop vaccinating my first born child at 1 year old. I have been researching the vaccines for 8 years now. My first child never has had another vaccine since he was 1 yr old and my other two not a single one ever! They are healthier than my first. My kids rarely get sick, unlike their vaccinated peers who seem to ALWAYS be sick with something!

In our homeschool loop, there was this same topic but regarding vaccines for our human babies. It is really scary!!!!

Yes, I understand the "not vaccinating" the children either...I had that same struggle, I fought it as well, and was threatened by the school that my children would not get an education without them...so I gave in...! I now wish I would have home schooled, but it's besides the point now...they are both young adults and by the grace of God were protected from those nasty side effects...Taffy our Yorkie is another story though...I don't have to fight with the school board, just the vets, I know they are only trying to do the best they know how, but I'm Taffy's Mommy and am the only advocate she has. I know her and her ways...and know the moment something is off with her...and it just so happens that it was always after visiting the vets office (getting shots)...that she would become so violently ill....lot's of love, exercise, good nutrition, prayer and thanking God daily for her in my life is the medicine I give at the moment,...enjoy your little ones with every breath you take...

I knew an old vet ( hes passed now) but he would always say animals do not need to be vaccinate every year other then the rabie witch is the law. he would not give any cat/dog shots every year. they would get their booster shots then the adult shot then no more. then a rabie every three years. he would say no more is needed ever. those shots last a life time just like our human shots do. boy did he love the animals, he would cry when one had to be PTS.

Because of the potential harm, I have chosen to never vaccinate, either my kids or pets. My sons are 27 and 19 and have always been healthy aside from catching colds. I have never had a problem with an unvaccinated pet either.

with such decision do you have to homeschool; or are they allowed to attend school without being vaccinated.

also my dog is 2 years now and she has had many health issues after getting overvaccinated; so i decided to stop all vaccines, boosters and whatnot; i don't think dogs need that many vaccines over their lifetime.

A good number of states have medical, philosophical, and/or religious exemptions available for children whose parents don't want to vaccinate. That is, in these states the school board can't make you do it and they can't fight with you. These kids don't need to be homeschooled (but as a side note, I think it's a great idea ).

Nobody can be forced to give DHP anywhere in the US. Vets and groomers can require it, but that doesn't mean you have to give it. You can swich vets, etc.

I do see that some have stopped giving them altogether though or don't even give puppy vaccines. To each their own, but this can be very dangerous. I think if you've ever seen a pup with parvo or distemper, you'd change your mind...

do you mean prednisone? my dog is on it and she never had that reaction. it must be a reaction to the vaccines; which one she had done. why did the vet put her on antibiotic. is this a banfield vet. why give vaccines, antibiotics and prednisone at the same time??? the diaherea is reaction to vaccines and antibiotic. please try the bene-bac pet gel it's a probiotic that will help the stomach. and read about overvaccination; good luck

I am so confussed now. My yorkie reacted really poorly to her puppy shots. SHe was really sore for about 4-5 days. And the first couple of days just out of it. she is almost a year now and 5 pounds. In Oct. she is suppose to have her 3 yrs. rabies. I also live in a tic infested area my Aussie already has lyme disease. Now I don't know what to do for her when its time for more shots.

Dogs should at least get puppy vaccinations and if healthy one year booster as no vaccinations is asking for trouble as parvo is everywhere so that is risky. Separating them out in toy breeds is good to do though.

Default Vaccinations Concerns

Hello Everyone

I have two yorkies they are 2 years old. I got a call from the vet stating it was time to drop them off for a comprehensive exam. I asked if they are getting any vaccinations. The vet stated that they needed the bortadella, lyme and lepto. I told her I did not want my dogs to get the lyme or lepto shots. One of my yorkies had a very bad experience with the lepto (I am thinking it was the lepto, however they gave her 3 shots at once

I know some of the articles are stating that you don't need to vaccinate every year. I am trying to understand do they really need annual shots or shots every three years or none at all...

Any help will be greatly appreicated
