Great information. I love our vet's book, "The Nature Of Animal Healing" (Dr. Martin Goldstein DVM) - totally supports your vaccination attitude. Our two Yorkies are both 8 years old and 3 years old. The three year old has not been vaccinated as heavily as the 8 years old. She is a much happier and healthier dog and I believe it is largely due to the minimal amount of vaccination. |

I agree that animals are WAY over vaccinated. Vets just don't want all the studies that have been done and the proof to come out because they make so darn much money on the vaccines. (not all vets are like this, of course) This is one instance where less IS better. |
Last year my dogs were going to be boarded in a fancy spa like suite, so they all needed all their shots, well even though the shots were divided into 2 visits, the pooches all got very sick, so I never did board them, they will remain in the home with babysitters and shot free for a long long time. I feed organic to the dogs, filtered water, supplements, and daily walks yet because I am against vaccines and heart worm meds, I think I would not be allowed to save a dog from a rescue. They require all dogs to be on heart worm meds and yearly vaccines. Now that's what I call unfair. I do see their point, but I am the one who saw my dogs sick, and I brought it on them. |

When I look at rescue sites the application has which heartworm medicine are your current dogs using? Also alot of sites will have a clause in their requirements that says all current animals must be utd with their shots. I believe its on sos yorkie rescues, and my local rescue in shillington pa. |

shots ...Hello there, this is my first time logging into this site, I was browsing the web to find out more about Vaccines and this is how I ended up here, was delighted to find it, but horrified to read all the things posted...! Our Yorkie is now going on 12 years old, we did all the vaccines our vet suggested, thinking that we were doing right by her, we found her getting sick every time to the point that she started throwing up blood after receiving shots, being lethargic, not eating, diareah with blood, sleeping all the time etc etc...! I kept asking the vet if it could have anything to do with the vaccines and they told me "no" that they did not believe that to be the case...after thousands of $$ in tests, and worries, ER visits, sleepless nights and tears that can't be counted, they decided to stop giving her Lyme shots, because she ended up getting it anyway (Lyme disease that is)...! Go figure! I started to do some research and found that MANY are experiencing these same things and I decided to take action...NO MORE shots...! I don't care if they put me in jail,...or fine me or whatever...! I will fight for her and any cost...! She has now not had any shots for a couple years...I have her on an organic diet (home made), and she is active like a puppy, playful all the time...hiking mountains with me (Mt. Washington) so yes, BIG ones...! I thank God for her in my life she is my "faithful" one, always by my side, my treasure and delight...! Sincerely, Simone :aimeeyork |
My vet had me come in every 2 weeks until all Pixie's shots were done doing one vaccination at a time. There were some shots he did not give Pixie bc she was small. lyme was one of them. She did have bordetella bc I was thinking of going to puppy kindergarden and she got sick from that one. about 3 days after she developed a cold but nothing more serious and it was gone in 7 days. |
Yep! I agonized over my decision to stop vaccinating my first born child at 1 year old. I have been researching the vaccines for 8 years now. My first child never has had another vaccine since he was 1 yr old and my other two not a single one ever! They are healthier than my first. My kids rarely get sick, unlike their vaccinated peers who seem to ALWAYS be sick with something! Quote:
