Read the article I think if you reread the article it is not Danvill, IL.......but Danville, Ohio. See how things get misunderstood. Facts first........ By the way Jake I think you did a good thing on here and hats off to you...... ;) |
I guess I was right about the small town thing regardless as FireFish pointed out, but Mount Vernon (the newspaper) and Danville are both close cities in Southern IL as well. :) Either way I think it was rude for JAKE to attack me for saying the town is small and ESPECIALLY Bettyeanne because she is one of the nicest people on this site (I'm not). She obviously does think that the dogs look not taken care of or she wouldn't have stated it. I'm done defending myself! |

Please do stick around and you will quickly learn why so many feel so strongly against breeding smaller dogs. And just a hint, you may want to reconsider your wording next time and refrain from telling members here that we show stupidity or I'm afraid your stay may end up being a short one. Talk about being to quick to judge... |
Here's the thing When I talked about stupidity........Here is what I am saying in my opinion......It is not right to down anyone on any topic if you do not know them and know what they stand for..How can anyone using common sence judge someone for something they know nothing about? I guess if my stay is or could be a short one then so be it. I would venture to say then that this is a yorkie chat room that would be bias and I don't think that is the case. As I say everyone has their own opinion and this is mine. You say this Jake was rude for attaching you....well what about all you guys attaching that lady Renotta who you know nothing about...was that also rude? I am not trying to actually down anyone here I just think you all should think about what your saying and doing to a lady you have no clue about. I can not and will not defend anyone so to speak since I don't know anyone of these people but I just think everyone should have a loving and caring heart and think about how they would feel in a situation like this if they were being attached.. Yorkie people either being breeders or just lovers of the bred should all try and unite and help each other out not attach each other. Everyone seems to have their own standards and some may think it is wrong while others think it is right. Is there one breeding standard? No...I think it is up to what that individual thinks since they are the only ones who actually really know their own dogs. Can't all yorkie owners help each other.........I would hope and pray they could and would. |

I can't change your mind anymore than I can hers about this, and honestly, it's really not my place to, nor do I have the energy or desire to try. I hate to start off on the wrong foot with you, but I am being honest. And BTW, I have not yet made a comment about Jake attacking me...I think you have me confused with someone else. |

What I have seen on this thread is people giving their opinions on what they saw. This has been done many times in good and bad. It's nice that some people have come here to clarify what they saw or know of this breeder. However, since it is just an opinion and everyone is entitled to that and according to some, if it is an opinion, it's not defamation so can't everyone just move on??? |
Oh Wow, how did I miss this? I am not going to judge the lady concerning this thread. I am only going to voice my opinion as a breeder for many years of this lovely breed. Intentionallly breeding any female whose weight is below 5 lbs is unethical. The reason being is you must put yourself in that tiny female's position. The strain it takes on their little body. I've never said it like this before but to get a point across, imagine forcing a small woman who weighs about 90 lbs to carry and deliver triplets over and over. Can you imagine the strain on her back? The wear and pressure on her knees and ankles? The constant c-secs she probably will have due to not having a large enough pelvic area. Not to mention the fact that she was forced to do it. I just don't get it and I never will. I like small yorkies. But I do not agree with others intentional breeding of small females. You can easily get small yorkies from a nice 5-7 lb dam paired with a smaller sire. This has been my experience anyway. But the sad reality is that money talks and as long as their are people that this doesn't bother, then there are always going to be small females being bred. I think alot of you know that I had an accidental breeding of my small girl who was not in my program many yrs ago. The look on her face when she could not have those babies was devastating. She was rushed in for a c-sec and she was in terrible pain afterwards while trying to nurse the babies she should have never had. She became pregnant through the opening for the tail in her fancy pants which are protective panties for females in heat. They are no more "protective" than not having them on at all. Having been through this I can speak for myself and my own experience when I say that it really isn't ethical to breed a tiny female. When this happened to my girl, I must say, that I did not feel ethical at all. I felt ashamed for what I had allowed to happen. I'm older and wiser now and I learned this valuable lesson the hard way. |

Only Imagine I can only imagine since the reporter for that news paper got other things wrong then he must have gotten that wrong also. I emailed from her web site she does not even live in Danville, Ohio, and he spelled Dennis instead of Dynnis. So if people are so concerned and want to know the facts why dont they email Renotta at Yorkie City and find out the truth??? If we would all do this maybe none of this would have ever got spoken bad about. |

DANVILLE — A Knox County-bred Yorkshire Terrier made its appearance on the red carpet Monday night at the Golden Globe Awards. June Bug is the small “tea cup” Yorkie PURCHASED from Renotta and Kevin Oliver, Rabbit Ridge Road, by Ms. “Jake” Dennis this past weekend FOR THE OCCASION. Dennis flew in from California to make the purchase and spent the night with the Olivers. |
Question?????? I would like to ask for my own information if someone can tell me why this news article was posted on here in ther first place..... Can someone give me an answer??? This would help me understand the purpose and all possibly. Thanks |
I wonder how anyone could read a newspaper article, look at a website & conclude such negatives about a person they have never met, been a customer of, spoken to or even been an aquaintance to?? Is it fair or ethical to make hurtful & damaging statements about a person & her business without any firsthand knowlege? This is what some have done in this situation and I believe it is not only wrong but also ridiculous! To look at a newspaper story that was meant to celebrate something wonderful for the Oliver's and their town & choose to pick apart the article, pick apart her website/dogs, & then finishing the job by picking apart Renotta & her integrity on an open forum IS defamation...IMO! I actually do know Renotta, and know that her dogs are healthy, well cared for & beautiful too! She takes pride in her yorkies & it shows......she should be happy about the recognition she's gotten! My reason for writing this is only in hopes that some of you would think before you decide to drag someone thru the mud......I am sure you would expect the same consideration were the tables turned. And I agree with Princessyorkies....different breeders have different opinions, different practices, different experiences......if you have questions, why dont you talk with Renotta directly to get some facts. As far as opinions go, I think that Yorkiemom1970 shared her opinion & experience in a helpful way....which is what I thought Yorkietalk is supposed to be! Of course people will have different thoughts & opinions & certainly not always agree with one another but this can't this be done in a grown-up way? |

This is the news section of YorkieTalk where news stories with Yorkies in them are posted. |
Way to say it!!!!!!!!!! I agree with what all Yorkiedreamer has said and I do think people should think before they speak bad about another breeder, person and so on. And yes how would they like it if the shoe was on the other foot........ As for Stewiesmom I understand this is a section of yorkietalk where stories are put on but does this mean that it is open for the majority to dog people like they have. Several have responded and most negative but yet others have responded on a good note and I say great for those who have spoken good. Just remember what if this happened to those who are dogging this person, how would they liked being dogged????? Do we not think about others feelings here? |
FYI: For everyone... Quote:
Don't believe ANYTHING you read or hear. Information is usually lost, forgotten and misconstrued. Believe a portion of what you see with YOUR OWN EYES. The Media rewrites things the way THEY want it to read. I speak from experience. So if this is a "Forum" for Yorkie "articles" and whatnot, realize rumors start from all of this nonsense . Renotta NEVER said "TEACUP" to the reporter - he added it. You all have your views and are entitled. HOW did the Standard poodle get so big- and how did the minurature poodle get so tiny. Was this unhealthy? I think we ALL have some reading to do huh? BUT, If a FEW of you decided to CLEARLY read ALL OF the comments and rebuttals of all of your peeps here---you would not keep "GOING BACK TO THE ORIGINAL ARTICLE> you'd learn BRAND NEW information; EXAMPLE in a very early email by Fire FISH: Stating REnotta never said Tea Cup - or mentions teacup. Then 2 of you say DONT INSULT THIS BOARD???? ( I know you saw the article ladies, we've moved on and solved that dilema - but yet you still repeat a false article? INSULT?>Sorry-Isnt that the pot calling the Kettle black?> You aren't listening or reading what any of the other wrote here. I NEVER said I bought a yorkie for the "OCCASION". The reporter threw that one in. I thought I made myself very clear in my First statement - but yet some of you have missed info because you ARE SO STUCK ON THE FIRST ARTICLE! AKA-The Crap this REPORTER MADE UP> SO--if you ONLY skim thru each others comments you will miss the facts . And you will continue going round and round. Anyways Lighten up - have fun! PEACE.j |

Well, if anything good was to come out of this, at least this thread sparked the arrival of 4 new members who decided to join. Welcome to YT! I hope you have a marvelous time here! :) |
Thanks Quote:
Thanks BamaFan121s I hope I enjoy this site as I have read many different threads and enjoy it. I just do not like people dogging others when they don't even know that person. I would take a stand for any of you in a situation like this or another situation. |

No, I never believe anything I read or hear. and I think you should take your own advice about skimming comments. Slick. Doesn't a *37 year old have anything better to do than make multiple user names, come on this board and attack people? |

Oh wow I thought Jake made a good statement here. Maybe we would all be better off to get facts first. Why do you think she has multiple names, as I have not seen any evidence of that. I have although seen evidence of people speaking up for people they do not even know. I myself have had members on here send me personal messages and saying thanks for standing up for someone I do not even know. Some say they have belonged to this chat room a long time and things like this go on here because some people think they know much more than others. Maybe we should all just stop stipulations on here and try to get along. I myself just joined here yesterday and I love some of the topics in the threads and others I think are just down right wrong, but we all have our nitches don't we. |

slamming I think the slamming should stop. This should not be what yorkietalk is all about. I wasn't born yesterday either and I have not had a clue she is using different names. Can't you check people out on here? Or at least the administrator should be able to check people out and make sure they are not doing what you are saying Jake is doing. I don't think for a minute she is doing that but it's my opinion. I think she is defending herself from some who have picked on her. I had one pick on me and more or less threaten me but that doesn't mean I think that all of those who was slamming the lady who the article was about are all the same people. Maybe this lady has had friends who are emembers here email others and they are all replying to stand up for this lady.....Who knows....... |
I just finished reading this entire thread, and as near as I can tell, it is all about self-serving publicity. It is about Jake wanting publicity for her doggie-coat business. It is about Jake wanting publicity for her breeder. And it is about a town wanting publicity for having such a special breeder. The problem with publicizing yourself before the media is you, by definition, invite public comment. Several YorkieTalk members read the articles, went to the Web site, and made their feelings known to fellow YorkieTalk members. That's the purpose of this forum: to discuss Yorkies. Some of the comments were positive. Some of the comments were negative. But they were all clearly opinions based on news reports and a Web site. Conversely, some people with personal knowledge of the breeder came to her defense. I respected those opinions just as I respected the opinions of those who criticized her. But calling YorkieTalk members who criticized the breeder shameful and "bitter" is just sour grapes. If you invite comment, you had better be prepared for all types of it. And blaming misinformation on the reporter is a convenient excuse. I didn't see or hear anyone asking the paper to file a correction. |
