LOST DOG ALERT!! BRITISH AIRWAYS @ JFK!! Crate fell off conveyor belt and crate door open. Dog has not been seen; British Airways and Port Authority are assisting and are very helpful. if you are able to go out to search and post fliers, be sure to keep your vehicles flasher lights on and post a copy of the flier in the window of your car.

What a doll!! i hope they find him to be safe;)

I really don't understand WHY anyone would fly a "small sized" dog cargo, why aren't they in cabin under the seat????:(

That's so sad. He must be scared in a big strange place with cars and planes. I hope he's okay.

I didn't know you can fly dog in cabin under the seat??? I thought they must fly as cargo. That's why I'd rather drive, no matter how far.

Since it is British Airways perhaps it is an international flight and they don't allow them in the cabin because of the need to potty on such a long trip.:confused: In any event it is dreadfull.

Absolutely!!!;) Right at your feet....The average airline is appx $100 one way, well worth it:)

There r still some airlines @60.00 + to 100.00, furbabies can fly w u under yr seat, some airline will let u put 2 together if they're small enough to fix in the carry on and r able to stand in the carry on and turn around .
Just call around different airlines for availablies for u and the pet. It takes a little work but u can do. U can get all information on line, but before u buy yr ticket call the airlines to see if u can book ur pet, some airlines have a limit to how many pets can fly on one flight.In the cabin w u.

It was British Airways and the dog was probably going to be traveling to England and would have to fly cargo to avoid the 6 months quarantine.

I think it's 10+ hours to go to UK, and it's dark and cold in the cargo area. Pitch black actually, absolutely no light. That is traumatizing.

Whenever we fly, ours are right under our seat as well. I would not travel any other way. My heart goes out to the owner of this poor little pup.:(

If I remember correctly it is 7 hours from JFK to England - and 6 hours from England to JFK.

When we came to the USA from England we had to put the dogs in cargo, no choice. But they were fine when we arrived in Atlanta.

If u much put them in cargo , when u fly international, Please put a lock on the cage, A lock that anyone can open, put something cause the doors do open.
You need this so if the cage falls off , the door will not open. It happens allot, u just don\'t hear about it all the time, the furbaby moves and jump and the cage falls off.:(

My daughter lost her dog and her boyfriend called this service that calls and leaves and automated message to like the closest 500 homes or so that gives details like you have on your flyer. If you like I can ask her about how to call.

Omg! How horrible! My heart and prayers go out to you dear! This just made me cry...so sad...hope he is found and returned safe and sound! :eek:
